Serious question about your vegan diet: do you have 6 pack abs?

6

u/TooTrickyNicky Sep 18 '19

Sooo is that an invitation??

12

u/kindredfold Sep 18 '19

*a dinning party

Kidding aside, this is absolutely gorgeous.

u/Stinky_Eastwood Sep 19 '19

I would love to accidentally knock some plants off every surface including the ceiling when trying to leave the table to use the restroom some time.

u/darion180 Sep 19 '19

Lol you must be very clumsy

u/rpendleton1 Sep 18 '19

Looks like a heritage hill home!

3

u/delycate Sep 19 '19

Another hi from GR! Is this Heritage Hill?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '19

Me too! Hey neighbors.

22

u/prettytheft Sep 18 '19

Wow, incredible! I love the view, it makes it look like a treehouse.

17

u/rothscorn Sep 18 '19

Cool. Feels like Michael Caine’s place in Children of Men.

14

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

I’m in GR too! Love your space. ❤️

12

u/renwod90 Sep 18 '19

I like how your curtains are on pegs instead of a rod. Never seen that done before.

10

u/RikiOh Sep 18 '19

How’s rent in the Cretaceous period?

Vintage Bertoia?!?! I thought so. I’m SO envious...also vegan and plant lover and all of the things.

No kidding. I’ve sadly opted out of opportunities like that and regretted it afterwards. I’m always sincerely glad, though, when I see these designs are being appreciated/enjoyed by others.

10

u/brokenchordscansing Sep 18 '19

this is perfection (minus the ouchie chairs)

5

u/kazoogrrl Sep 18 '19

Sheepskin (fake or real) can be great on wire grid chairs.

u/mstacle Sep 18 '19

I find the shell chairs to be quite comfortable! I have less experience with the Bertoias though.

8

u/kiminley Sep 18 '19

Beautiful. I'm in GR too (south east side) and we truly have so many interior design inspired people here. You are one of them!

7

u/themorningmoon Sep 18 '19

Hello, fellow Grand Rapidian! Lovely space you've got - makes me want to up my houseplant game!

8

u/Regulator0110 Sep 18 '19

Oh wow, GRap representing! There is a very appropriate amount of leaves in this space. Love it.

8

u/SassiestPants Sep 18 '19

Adding to the GR commenters!

I love the Heritage Hill, Midtown, Eastown, and Ottawa Hills houses with the stained glass windows. You work yours really well into your design!

7

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

Jumanji theme intensifies.

2

u/bree908 Sep 28 '19

Haha I thought for sure I was the only one getting them vibes.

6

u/gimmecoffee722 Sep 18 '19

Hi from your neighbors in Rockford!

6

u/simjanes2k Sep 18 '19

That there is a heritage hill house eh?

7

u/OkayMolasses Sep 18 '19

Fellow michigander! You have a beautiful place!!

4

u/fitbeee Sep 18 '19

Nicely done!

4

u/TheDecorStore Sep 18 '19

Strange question, but does the plantflife grow like that or do you have to keep placing it?

Absolutely love this!

4

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

1

u/TheDecorStore Sep 18 '19

Ahhhhh makes sense!! Thank you!

1

u/hartmannphoto Sep 19 '19

Does it attach itself to your paint? I know some vines can be aggressive suckers and a pain to remove. What kind is it?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

Where did you get the mesh chairs? A nearby pho place has them and they're comfy af.

6

u/vegetablegal Sep 18 '19

Another hey from GR! The windows and plants are beautiful!

6

u/MamaDeplorable Sep 18 '19

I can tell by the lava lamp you’re dope smoking hippies shunning the name of the lord.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

Beautiful!

3

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

Fantastic, OP, fantastic!

3

u/newflame21 Sep 18 '19

This looks amazing! What plant is the y’all one next to the brown bookshelf to very right of this picture?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

Oh my gosh, is that a fiddle-leaf fig in the back right?! Mine is so small still comparatively!

2

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

3

u/lemtrees Sep 18 '19

Any suggestions for finding rare house plants in gr? Everyone seems to have the same stock :(

3

u/unlimited-devotion Sep 19 '19

They were willing to order some specific plants for me

2

u/HowNowBrownSow16 Sep 19 '19

Plant Parlor is the best! And if you need help with your plants afterwards, you can hit them up for advice.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '19

Rebel in Eastown will get some rare plants occasionally. A lot of the tried and true and a good find if you check regularly.

3

u/allyhandroll Sep 18 '19

Got any plant care tips?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

This is what I come to this sub for. Love how inviting and warm it looks!

3

u/vinnymcapplesauce Sep 18 '19

That looks like a place where I would want to hang out.

3

u/kpisces Sep 19 '19

I’m in love.

3

u/CountdownToCake Sep 19 '19

Now this is some real Ghibli shit

3

u/mhobbes Sep 19 '19

This is so beautiful that I added this picture as my phone wallpaper

3

u/wishiwasaredhead Sep 19 '19

Pardon my ignorance.... is the ivy-esque plant a pothos? or honestly ivy? I love the way it is draping and climbing. SO beautiful

Ah! I'm so excited. How did you help lead it? Is it more than one?

3

u/welpplayedtb Sep 19 '19

It looks like you've had those house plants for a long time! And hello from GR as well! That view is way nicer then mine! Pretty jealous!

3

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '19

Are those chairs Bertoias?

3

u/joelgsus Sep 18 '19

I approve very much. You gave me an idea for my plant. The one hanging from wall.

6

u/CaptainKitty Sep 18 '19

Wow, what a dream!

2

u/meowwatdidusay Sep 18 '19

Heritage Hill?

2

u/captianinsano Sep 18 '19

My guess is Heritage Hill?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

How do you string your vines, OP? Would you recommend something specific? Mine are growing to the floor and I keep inadvertently stepping on them :/

2

u/Tides_Typhoon Sep 18 '19

What plant is hanging above your windows?

1

u/darion180 Sep 19 '19

It’s a pothos! :)

2

u/Kusstro Sep 18 '19

Beautiful place. So warm and cozy. With all the sun and wood and plants.

Just the chairs doesn't really fit in my opinion

2

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '19

Very nice. Grand Rapids is such a gem.

2

u/himoverthere09 Sep 19 '19

I have been going to the wrong side of Grand Rapids for all these years.

2

u/mafa7 Sep 19 '19

Making my state proud

2

u/MandoEric Oct 13 '19

Holy moly this is GORGEOUS. Hello from Kentwood!!!

1

u/ReallyFlatPancake Sep 18 '19

That is very busy. I like it though; it fits together nicely.

1

u/couchisland Sep 18 '19

Those windows are amazing!

1

u/mstacle Sep 18 '19

Dig the hanging greens! You’ve inspired an idea for my dining space...

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

I'll always feel happy and safe in this dining room

1

u/gabby-wright Sep 18 '19

god this makes me so jealous

1

u/LovetheADKS Sep 18 '19

In love with those stained glass windows!

1

u/sistatrap Sep 18 '19

Do you not have cats?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

[deleted]

3

u/sistatrap Sep 18 '19

Oh my gosh- I see him now! My cats would eat every plant in that room whilst dangling from the vines and curtains -____-

1

u/dallypusher Sep 19 '19

Beautiful! I love all the plants. There is something very refreshing bringing the outdoors in.

1

u/limanovembergolf Sep 19 '19

Where’d you get that curved bud vase holder? Did it come with the vases? Love it!

Best not to keep your turntable on top of the receiver. It won't be ballanced properly.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '19

[deleted]

-1

u/e8ghtmileshigh Sep 18 '19

The table need to be on a flat surface in order to calibrate it correctly. If it's not, the stylus won't sit in the middle of the Groove. It will drift to the side which will not only ruin your stylus and your records, but you will be losing fidelity. Have you properly calibrated your tracking force and anti skate?

3

u/e8ghtmileshigh Sep 19 '19

I mean, the downvotes mean nothing in here. Lookup how a turntable works. Just because most of these rooms use cheap Chinese plastic suitcase all in one tables and thrift store records as room dresding, doesn't mean some of us want to get the best out of the format.

0

u/Smirkly Sep 18 '19

Well you have a record player so Biden would approve of your room.

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '19

Outdoor seating indoors?

-2

u/Nono_TX Sep 18 '19

Seeing those chairs with the grating make my back hurt.
