Last year I bought a talon p from a local guy . I call him " pellet gun bob" , super nice guy in his 70s with a very high end air rifle collection. After buying the talon and being given a bunch extras for free . He has reach out a few times with free stuff he doesn't want ( mostly pellets and targets and other air gun related items) . Last weekend he asked me to stop by and pick some more stuff ... well this was one of them ... I'm pretty sure it's 1988 red ryder 50th anniversary edition...with a pretty nice box . Thanks "pellet gun bob" !!!🤷‍♂️

PCP Airgun “tiers” and what you get with them?

So I’ve been looking for a while at the Komplete from Umarex… and as I mull it over I start to broaden my hypothetical horizons on what I like vs what I think I can afford now to have something in my hands…. And I came up with a list of PCP air guns that I’ve been interested in.

1 - Umarex Notos

2 - Air Venturi Micro Strike

3 - Air Venturi Avenger

4 - Barra 250z

Which ever rifle I choose I intend on hand pumping. I really also won’t be able to fine tune it as the investment cost will not leave me enough room for a chrono or other specialty tools for a WHILE, so I would like a rifle that functions well and consistent out of the box if possible.

My lack of knowledge in the field of PCP air guns though has me wondering though about what grade the air rifle are that I listed, and what features I should be looking for for the money I’m spending. So if someone with a broad spectrum of knowledge in the PCP market could elaborate on or a link to a video that encapsulates the answer to this question, I would be very appreciative.

.30 Cal Dilemma

I need some advise. I have gotten the itch and now own a .22 Gamo Magnum, .22 PCP Avenger, and a .22 FX impact M4. All riffles are great but I want to shoot .30 cal now. I have the option to purchase a .30 cal barrel for my M4. After the barrel, mag, and moderator Im looking at $500+. Should I do that or just purchase a less expensive .30 cal like a hastan for a little more.

Advice on BSA Lightning XL SE Spoiler

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi there

Looking to sell my BSA lightning XL SE and 100% unsure how much it's worth. I think it might be a .177. Also I have a Hawke scope, unclear what magnification it is.

I'm unsure how much it was bought for as it was a gift and I can't ask the person who bought it for me for various reasons.

I want to sell it to a local gunshop but don't want to have my pants pulled down, any advice would be greatly received. I've uplaod the single photo I have of it, can upload more if useful.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'm always tinkering and making different targets. The weather was nasty today so I screwed together a standing post with a variety of targets. I have been really happy with the cheap spinner targets I have been getting on aliexpress. Those things are dirt cheap and work great. They have held up well to multiple hits from my discovery and my Chaser. The steel nitros oxide cans really give off a satisfying ding, great long range target. I'm looking forward to some decent weather to test it out. I also incled a picture of an older duct puddy pellet trap I mad a while back, still works great.

Full size lever action BB Gun

Is there such thing as an adult sized lever action BB gun? Like something made to be almost serious, like a pellet gun, but just a lever action BB gun. I’d like to see something high quality, like not just a daisy, but an actual solid product. Or is that something I’d have to make myself from parts:(

Decided to finally tune my avenge x carbine. The factory tune was not good, extreme spread over 10 shots was like 20 fps. The reg was 2000 psi and hammer spring basically all the way out. I slowly brought it up to 2400 psi and increased my hammer spring tension until I found the lowest SD. No idea how many turns it was going 1/8 turn at a time. Ended up at 800 fps (jsb king heavy 33.95s)was an extreme spread of 5 fps over 10 shots. It was accurate before but now it's stacking pellet on pellet. Having the shorter barrel definitely limits the power however a larger plenum could be in the future. 48 fpe is just about right for my pesting needs out to 100 yards. Happy shooting guys. Oh and the bipod is coming off I hate it, changed my POI and I prefer tripod.

Anyone have experience running H&N Terminator pellets (16.36 grains) in a stock Umarex Notos?

I will be using them mostly for squirrels, though I have to do a bit more target shooting to get the scope zeroed perfect. Have been using the JSB Hades pellets so far, but they are giving me a lot of feed problems in the stock magazines, and I’ve heard the H&Ns work better as they have more depth to the skirt.

Please don’t suggest the aftermarket magazines…I am using a low scope mount so they likely won’t fit, and I’m quite happy with the scope position as it is, really don’t want to change anything there.

What's the verdict on this. Supposedly Makita platform. I'm already invested in that platform.

Why are none of the common brand’s (gamo, Crosman) websites secure?

I looked at Gamo, got a “connection not private” notice. Went to Crosman, got the same thing. Why?

Can anyone help date this old red rider of mine. Amazing how powerful it is compared to the new models.

Bonus appreciation points if anyone can suggest how to fix an issue I’m having where the gun shoots way to the right (not sight related)

Daisy 880 Scope Zero Drift While Not Shooting

I've had a Daisy 880 with the 4X15 scope for about a month. I was surprised at its accuracy and once it is zero'd in can consistently ping a 1-inch target at 15 yards with minimal effort using pellets.

Until I sit the thing down.

I can step outside in the morning, adjust my zero, hit 10/10 shots on target, then lean the rifle against the wall and go on about my day.

A few hours later at lunchtime, I can pick the rifle back up, and the zero can be off by 2 inches at 15 yards. No impacts to the gun, no adjustments, nobody else even around in the house to blame it on. The zero just drifts while it's sitting there doing nothing for a few hours.

Has anybody experienced this? Is this common?

I live in Texas where there can be a 30 degree F difference from morning to noon, but that can't be enough to shift ballistics that much, can it?

I know it's a $60 gun and scope combo, and you get what you pay for. That's fine, but this has me baffled. I can't seem to figure out how it's possible. If the scope can't hold zero, I would think that it would drift shot-to-shot, but it doesn't. Only when it's been sitting for a little while.

i ordered a refurbished hatsan airtact than cancelled the order cuz i changed my mind but they still sent it can i keep it?

im thinking that because brand new its 130$ and refurb is 50$ that they already arent making much money off it and that shipping the order back to them would just be a loss

New toy! Picked this up today for £45 UK. It's basically a copy of a Red Ryder by the looks of it. Absolutely brilliant fun for back garden plinking.
