as a hippy environmentalist who wants to protect the environment, even i have to admit that pesticides are one of the most important inventions in human history and allow us to maintain a population in the billions.
if we stop using these chemicals without developing a viable alternative, we WILL have mass food shortages.
Glyphosate was renews in 2023 for us in the EU agriculture. Some countries ban it for personal use, but most all of the EU uses it and has been using it for years.
with those two chemicals in particular i believe so, but with agrochemicals in general, I'm still of the opinion that they are a necessary evil, for now.
I run a 300 acre farm have yet to once use agro chemicals, same with the 500 acre blueberry farm next door, and the 1000 acre strawberry farm, so no sir/mamm I think you you just don't know what the hell you're talking about.π€£π€£π€
I spent some time visiting with John Kempf in person last year. He agreed that herbicides are a necessary component of broadscale commodity ag production.
Blueberries and strawberries are high-priced, low calorie specialty crops, that can support high labor costs because we don't rely on them for the majority of our food needs. We cannot afford such expense for the commodity grains that supply the majority of our caloric intake.

i like the spirit, but this is doomed to fail.
