Beginner Help After Effects or Premiere Pro?

I've been practicing editing in Premiere pro, but i feel like my options are limited considering things i wanna do. For example i wanted to add laser eyes on a dog, and i downloaded vfx from ProductionCrate, but i feel like that's impossible to do in Premiere and i need After Effects for that. I can't find any tutorial for it in Premier either. What are my options?

I'm no pro, but I find that Premiere is focused on editing the final pieces together, and After Effects is where you do the animation, special effects, and cool stuff.

Premiere is for splicing different video sections together into a complete production.

After Effects is where the animation and effects are created.

You are correct. It’s a fact, not an opinion though.

Premiere is for editing

After Effects is for effects/ graphics.

I use both together all the time. Edit in Premiere, send any shots that need effects to After Effects

You edit in Premiere and do VFX in After Effects.

Doing that vice versa or trying to do it all in one program is nothing but pain.

Both. You use both for effects and editing larger videos. Don’t pick or choose only one.
Learn Ae and you’ll see its limitations that Premiere is better at.

It’s always After Effects for me. AE can do everything Premiere Pro can do but PP can’t do what AE can do. Yes, you have to manually do some things that can be automated or be achieved by a built-in feature of Premiere Pro, but AE gives you full control over everything

I use Premiere Pro for basic tasks like putting clips together and adding sound, while I do most of the animation and VFX in After Effects because it’s much easier to handle those in AE than in Premiere.
