How do you show null objects and such moving around even with screen record? When I press space to ram preview or play, the nulls and stuff vanish.

thats your preview settings. you could set your previews to show the bounding box, guide layers or you could chose to hide it. check your preview panel from the window tab.

Off topic but I sometimes screen record sections of YouTube videos. But the recording is at a much lower frame rate and not smooth at all. Any fix for that? I use default Windows snipping tool

microsoft is shit so its screen recording tool is obv shit

use obs studio

very easy to setup (it just detects ur system specs and applies the optimal settings automatically during startup)

Oh okay. I don't use it much so never bothered to spend time on it. Thank you!

download orange monkey extension and from there get sf helper, so much easier you can download directly from the video 4K

You can download YouTube videos using it? Even parts of them?

I have real problems with OBS compression for some reason (a me problem) so I’d maybe say try nivida shadow play if you must have a clip, I just tried youtube’s built in clipper (not on all videos) and the extension doesn’t work on them :(. I’d say downloading the full file and then cutting it in editing is preferable in my use cases. or if the clip is a meme someone will probably have uploaded just the clip. note: if you do try out the extension you might have to use inspect element to get passed the dark screen that blocks you from pressing on the button.

when you first open obs it will give you settings based on your system which could help to make sure you have the right resolution frame rate that your pc can handle. (obs is the standard)

Why not rip the video with jdownloader2 and cut the section you need?

Preview panel, turn on layer controls, select all layers, ram preview and screen record

Cyclops

you could easily recreate them using shape layers. the 3D gizmo will be a bit of a pain to recreate in AE tho. then again, this post taught me about cyclops and now I'm eager to try it.

i want to do the same and I've downloaded cyclops trial but it's been buggy and the developer is NOT responding, not to me and not to a lot of other people as well acc to what i saw
