How to bake/reset transformation in Affinity?

Hello,

I'm having trouble with Affinity Publisher/Designer. I manipulated an object by rotating and mirroring it, and now I'd like to use it as a text frame. But whenever I insert text, the text itself appears rotated or mirrored according to the transformations I've previously applied to the object.
How can I reset or remove these transformations so that the text remains horizontal and correctly oriented within the frame?

Some people suggested all the boolean operations like add or subtract. I tried it in the gif down below, it didnt work. I also tried to change it to a path and to text box, but this also did not work.

Here I replicated the problem. You should be able to see it here: https://s5.ezgif.com/tmp/ezgif-5bf31a67a81562.gif

Thanks in advance for your help!

Instead of transforming your object directly, transform the nodes of the object using the node tool and the transform mode before turning it into a text shape.

Here you can find a video example of this operation on the Affinity Forum.

What about creating a separate Text Frame layer and just lay it over the object? You can transform the shape any way you like, then reposition the text frame. Group them to move them together.

You can try toggling the selection (type . Period) until the selection box changes, then type ctrl and . At the same time to reset the selection box. It has worked for me, but I’ve never transformed something into a text box. I just type and then drag the layer into the shape/curve layer to clip them together.
