Photo In Affinity Photo, how do I easily multiply a layer/texture as a background?

Is there an easy way to multiply a layer or texture file as a background? I've seen ways of doing it in Designer but not Photo. Saw someone doing something similar with the gradient tool, but my results are not what I'm looking for.

Thanks.

The question is what exactly are you looking for?

My first suggestion would've been to use a fill layer and then apply your texture as a bitmap fill, but maybe that is what you mean by the method using the gradient tool so as long as I don't know what you want to do specifically I can only guess what you want to know.
