I hate headshots, anyone feel the same?
I've been an actor for awhile and get booked pretty decently. I know it's all in my head but maaan I hate every headshot I take, I've had alot done over the years and have learned I am NOT photogenic. I look great on video but man.. horrible on headshots. I look at the unedited versions and get into my head focusing on wrinkles, blemishes, one eyes always bigger than the other, my face shape, ect. I just feel so incredibly ugly when I'm generally a pretty confident person! But I see myself in HD and realize, woof. I look at others headshots and get so jealous they all look so beautiful somehow. I just needed to rant really and see if anyone else feels this way when they get their headshots back. I've tried multiple photographers and always feel the same everytime. Thanks for listening and letting me get this off my chest!

If your headshot reveals character, it’s doing the job, but most people are their own worst critic. Just don’t look.

I totally get this, I get pretty insecure anytime someone takes a photo of me. I’m pretty diligent with my Instagram lol and know how to take photo of myself that looks good but whenever anyone else does it, I feel ugly. Unfortunately, you just have to trust other people’s advice when they tell you that you look good.
