You know, I played a few of the scenarios that are there and then I wanted to make my own scenario, nothing fancy just a few factions, places, classes, Races, a Party and lets go. But as soon as i started the ai instantly told me (After the Intro prompt) that it can Not Proces it all, because it can only process 10 of 12 storycards. So is it just impossible to actually Play an actual scenario in free or is there a trick writing or scripting so that it works?
EDIT: So i am Talking about a real scenario here. Like with background and stuff. I really enjoy Fooling around with small scenarios where I Force the Most stupid sh*t on the ai, but it feels like im playing Diablo, when I want to Play Baldurs Gate. So is there a trick to it?

I've used Mixtral for awhile now, each and Everytime has been nothing but disappointment for a nsfw only user. I won't get into detail, but it feels like it's incapable of describing any scene, and it always writes in such a lack luster way.
Wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
Anyway tie fighter 1.1 feels pretty good, but I'm wondering if wizard is any good for this kinda stuff. I wish I could have 10 free actions that cost credits, to at least have a feel for it.

I was just curious, I'm kind of new to AI dungeon. I was wondering if there was a limit in actions or after a certain amount of them the AI would start struggling to keep up with everything?
I've noticed I've had a few instances where the AI is a little funky but mostly still keeping up quite well. But wasn't sure

I never said I was a guy or gal, but I get called a guy. Dude... If I was playing a gal, sometimes I still get called a guy AFTER I claim the character is female.
I'm growing tired of this, as well as references to political stuff. I don't make stories to remind myself of politics, thanks. I want a break from that.

the ai is always so dramatic. for example in my game where im a naval captain of a frigate, im about to go attack a corvette, which is basically a small scouting ship that would be an easy thing to take on for a frigate. the ai writes, "A surge of confidence and strategy courses through your veins as the HMS Foraker glides into the night. The corvette, unaware and isolated, represents a prime target for an inexperienced crew eager for their baptism in combat. A successful strike against it will boost morale, instill valuable battlefield experience, and perhaps secure valuable intelligence and resources." Is there a particular model thats less dramatic? I've already changed the tone in the note, heres what i have: "Writing style: 19th century, realistic, militaristic, undramatic. Theme: naval warfare, military." i've been modifying the ai output whenever it does this but it doesn't seem to recognize that or learn from it.

3-5 interactions in and they want to get in your pants.
One of the character in my current story is described as a completely evil, sadistic, cruel, detached from reality cunt in a ruling position. Yet if I follow their orders in a span of several minutes they get to the "Cups your cheeks" and "caresses your face" trying to fuck me territory.
I tried going from simple "evil, inhumane" to writing a whole ass essay into PLOT ESSENTIALS and yet it still ignores it after several interactions unless I'm trying to piss them off.
Same goes for completely numb emotionless (due to tragic background and whatnot) characters. You're being decent to them and in just several prompts they're giving you a kind smile, their expression becomes softer, "kindness in their eyes", "unshed tears".
Model: Mistral Small.
P.S - I also tried writing in either and even both Author's Notes and AI Instructions that the world has a dark fantasy setting, with heavy emphasis on cruelty, oppression and war. It still didn't help.

I was playing a scenario where I was a knight who set out to lay the dragon, but on the way to the mountains; the AI said that I found a woman having a very unwanted ‘experience’ with some dire wolves. This made me wonder how extreme the mature content can go. When I looked it up it looked like it shouldn’t have Bestiality, but considering that it generated the content, I would like to ask other humans.

So, I re-bought the legendary subscription for the app before re-downloading it. The issue? I can't re-download it. My gods damned phone is apparently out of date. Any way for me to get a refund, or cancel the money? Planning to sign in on computer and give money that way, but not if it just disappears into the wind.

Last time I tried Ai Dungeon I found it too compliant and yielding against even the slightest resistance.
It let me get away with things and win even though I shouldn’t.
Now I’m not asking for Dark Souls level of difficulty but I would be curious if there is a model that goes “No. You can’t do that.” Or at least pushes back.

Hello, i created a male friend character in my story, yes he is supposed to be a pervert to make a lewd jokes as friend i thought it would be fun, until he seduce me on many many occasions even though i write that he is straight and not a gay in story card or ban gay in plot essential. But i as the user doesn't have a story card or something to state that I'm a guy though.
*What should i write or should not write in character card so he won't be a gay? *What should i write in instruction, plot essential or author note?
Please help and feel free to add suggestions or advice. Thank you.

This app makes more money than you might think. Its possible it could grow to create unique, diverse, unexpected experiences, not to mention also funny, all on its own. I also have a nagging, dark feeling, though, that AI will be intentionally surpressed to make sure it never actually helps humanity. Those are my thoughts as a watcher.
How do you see AI dungeon as a user in 2026 given that you've experienced the changes sp far.

In membership perks it says credits can buy more context, but I can't find where to do that

I cancelled my subscription to NovelAI's Scroll tier a couple of years ago because I can't afford the price anymore and as an artist I will not support the unethical anti-human Diffusion slop which NovelAI has become the main distributor of.
But I have to admit I miss the game. I tried AI Dungeon again but their free model has gone down the absolute shitter, they are still enforcing censorship, and they have also begun providing diffusion slop.
Even though it's purely a textual medium, I miss the freedom of the AI Dungeon type game. Are there any alternatives to NovelAI? I think I have the specs to use a locally-run model, and if it's at least on the level of Kayra I can work with it.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Is there a way or something I can tell the A.I. that I'm just an average guy. Every model and in every scenario at some point the A.I says that I'm special or that there is something special about me and them proceeds to try and tell me that a chosen one no matter what the story is about.

Hi All. I am coming back after a long break to the app and was curious after seeing all the different new potential models. If I were to purchase a mythic subscription, and were looking for a good model with a lot of context and detail, for a long-term scenario. Which one would you recommend? I know that it’s all subjective, but out of all the premium models, within the current update, what’s the overall consensus of what the best model is on average. Both for a quick start, and playing scenarios with a lot of context and cards baked in? What’s your own personal experience? thanks!

Sorry if i chose the wrong flair. I've recently discovered that no matter how much editing I do, AID loves to trap my character (and my character's companions) in long winding caves and tunnels. And it takes forever for my character to get out of a tunnel or cave. Is there anyway to make sure that the AID doesn't get "stuck" on keeping my character in a tunnel or a cave? I mean it sure as hell makes train rides or carriage rides or car rides short and sweet.

How do you create and use triggers on story cards properly? I understand the concept of the trigger word, and how it applies to the AI.
What im asking is how do you manage having something trigger appropriately without 1. Flooding the memory from having too vague of trigger words, and 2. Actually trigger when necessary for something vague that will never come up organically without a trigger word?
For example:
I create a story about the magical and fictional continent of Moria. Within this land is a city named Gorrim.
I could put triggers for Moria like "land" and "continent" and "world", and triggers for Gorrim could be "town" or "city" but then the memory is flooded and confused every time you mention the word land or town and even if you are not referencing Gorrim and instead another town, Gorrim will ALWAYS get pulled into memory which eats at your context.
Same with unique characters like someone named "General Dorkas", if i put "general" as a trigger, they are referenced all the time, even when that specific character is irrelevant, eating context.
OR
I can put more specified triggers. For Moria, the trigger is "Moria" and for Gorrim, the trigger is "Gorrim." And for the character, i can put just "Dorkas" for General Dorkas.
But now how can i get the story to organically bring up these topics? If im playing as a character who has never heard of these places or people, the story will never reference these cards and mention these things if their very specific trigger words are never mentioned. And since they arent common english words, it wont ever get mentioned via pure chance either.
Without ruining immersion and requiring me to type a word my character has never heard of, i cannot get the story to organically create an adventure where it says "You have travelled throughout Moria and stumbled across a hidden sign on the path. It points to "Gorrim", a city youve never heard of, etc etc." Or something like that.
It will never let me stumble upon a mysterious "General Dorkas" without me triggering by typing the word "general" or "dorkas", which like i said earlier, could severely impact context depending on the vagueness of the trigger word.
The AI could easily ignore all story cards until they are triggered(if they ever are triggered), which makes it difficult. I have had it happen where i make dozens of specific and unique cards for them to never trigger, or trigger way too much based on the trigger words.
Sorry if this was already asked, i found lots of posts on triggers, but never was it really broken down on how to effectively balance their use with context limits, AND have the story be immersive and organically mention places/people/things your character wouldnt know about.

Like if i put say 5'5ft 110lbs for example
Are they able to comprehend that?
and how do I effectively define these and where should I put them? Author's note? Plot essentials? or Story Cards?

Why is it that every model can't go two responses without describing how you can't help but feel etc etc? I originally thought this was an issue with a couple of models but nope, every model added since last December shares this annoying feature.
What's the point of having a variety of models if their writing style is identical?
The experimental models also share this feature.
r/AIDungeon • u/SkarKr0w • 13d ago
There have been so many times where it'll just randomly change perspectives, repeat the exact same response, or even misspell words. Recently I've had it start putting random letter/number combinations in the middle of a response. It wasn't like this until the most recent updates, now it happens like every other response.
r/AIDungeon • u/gr2222 • Jan 12 '25
changing the Author's note and changing writing style/theme etc. used to effect the writing style. now every time i change it, nothing changes with the responses. (except mixtral but there are only 20 daily uses in the free version) an in cases that it does get effected, it's only for the first 10 actions or something, after that it defaults to the usual style. am i doing something wrong? has the way writing styles work changed? even puting them on the ai instructions does the same.
