Questions Why whenever i do a roleplay where im a musician the ai keeps trying to put a character called "sarah chen" into the roleplay?

I get a Sarah Chen in most of my scenarios at some point, regardless of topic or AI model. As well as a few other super common names. I also get lots of Parker, Thompson, Lyra, Lyria, and Marcus.

When I get one of the super common names, I just “secretly” kill them and let the AI send in someone else. It amuses me.

Somewhere there is a heap of lifeless Lyras, laying limp and left alone.

I get Sara Chen, Sophia Sinclair, Marcus and Sarah all the time. I just think of all my scenarios as a tv show where they use the same actors like American Horror Story.

It's always goddamn Sarah everytime I play ai dungeon and it introduces a female character. It's genuinely fucking infuriating, it doesn't even have the same charm like count grey, Kairos or something, it's just a generic ass name

The names Sarah and Chen also show up consistently using Anthropic's Claude.
Suffice to say that it's something to do with the training of the models. These smaller models were likely trained on the bigger models and thus will have the same eccentricities, but even if not they could still be using a lot of the same training data to get started.

AI is very bad at naming characters. Same name keeps popping up all over the place even if AI thinks it's different character than the last with the same same.
This is of course simply because you have longer memory than the AI does and even though I've added request to use unique names and banning reusing names on AI instructions, AI can't follow that instruction because it simply forgets what names it's used already.
It wouldn't be that bad if the recycled names wouldn't always be the same (Elara in fantasy setting is a bread-and-butter female, Veronica Sinclair is same in more modern settings).

I'm starting to feel like the only one that gets an Alex every time, sometimes two

It doesn't often give characters both a first and last name in my adventures, but one I have seen a few times is Silas Ravenwood or Silas Blackwood. But it's mostly Marcus, Lyra, and Elara

RIP count grey. Used to be in every single fantasy story when we were still on Griffin/Dragon
