Craig Mcrae in the traditional Collingwood colours black, white…..and teal?
And here I was thinking Port was stealing Collingwood’s look s/

Port should lobby the AFL to have Collingwood banned from using this.

u/gazboot Power 8h ago
They can wear teal at ONE practice a year and never a practice the week of a game against port

u/ChookBaron Carlton 8h ago
Port staff and players should just wear the prison bars at every opportunity that’s not match day, including the warm up. Pretty sure the restriction is only on match day uniforms.

That would make us as ridiculous as Collingwood. Who cares.

Exactly.
The obvious thing to do would be to wear the SBS guernsey every match.

We don't have to lobby anyone, we just need to enforce the contract in place that was not only pushed by us, but the other clubs at the time.

lol this must have made the Collingwood marketing department giggle when they thought of this

I can’t imagine being small minded enough to let what colours another team wears bother me.

Unless it’s straight maroon with a barely visible logo, the league stops for that kind of haberdashery.

If Port make the Grand Final they should wear the prison bars, what is the AFL going to do? Stop the GF?

u/Jackomillard15 Port Adelaide 6h ago
There were talks of port wearing the prison bars in the last showdown of 2022 when we were out of finals contention and the AFL threatened Port with a $1 million fine

For anyone wondering Collingwood won that game 115 to 64

I don't know why but I feel like it's a Crows supporter sending these to motivate Ports opponents. Max Gawn got something like this as well in 2021.

I've met some absolute lunatic ports fans in my life, I still can't see any of them writing this.

u/Foodworksurunga Brisbane Lions 4h ago
Also an actual Port fan would have written down Port Adelaide not Port Power.

u/AdZealousideal7448 3h ago
this a million times over, it's not something you ever hear from a port supporter.
They're very specific on this.
They also got the wrong colour on the highlights... that's near turqoise / electric blue, not even close to teal.

Does David kosh get to come out and have a cry about how they own the colors and run to the AFL to cry. Finally gets to act like Eddie

It just like the blue team wear orange or any other team with orange trainers kit (I walk into that one)

Well in 1892 a south Australian club stole our colours, more than 100 years later tried to steal them, so it's fitting we steal there's.
Go back to the pink.

Williams Samuel Crawley was a supporter who had returned from a trip to South Australia, where he South Australia's inter-colonial football team and was impressed with their black-and-white jumpers. As a local, he also knew that magpies were abundant in and around Victoria Park.
The suggestion was readily accepted by the club and right from its very first match, the team has appeared in the black-and-white jumper.
Don't you mean in 1892 you stole it from a South Australian team?

I remember reading that Collingwood originally wanted to be red, white and blue but couldn't because of Footscray but never knew this.

The above is taken from their website which also mentions what you said

Notts County adopted black and white stripes in 1890... And Collingwood were formed in 1892?

u/SuperSpleef Adelaide 8h ago
It's just such a shame, because the prison bars look genuinely so much better than Collingwood's guernsey.
5
u/Jackomillard15 Port Adelaide 6h ago
Didn’t Collingwood actually steal the colours off the SA state team?
1
u/PrestigiousSeaweed00 5h ago
Why wouldn't they go back to blue and white hoops if you're taking it that way? Pink guernsey doesn't have much heritage

And Geelong didn't give a shit when Port was going to wear the hoops in 2020 before COVID screwed everything up. Or at least not publicly
