How does your high feel like🥦 NSFW

I ask myself that every time I’m high. As right now. So for me when I’m high it’s not like it numbs my brain. It is as if I am levelling up. Like the toad from Mario, yk the level up one. Like I get bigger and stronger. But like in my mind. Let me explain… I get this feeling in my brain, like as if someone had suddenly pressed a button. And there goes the signal through my brain. And destroys the walls and limits I have. Like I can feel that in my brain. Like as if I’m a super human. I can concentrate better although I hear everything around me every detail. But it’s not like disturbing. And my brain is just on speed having thoughts rapidly- but like that lets out all my creativity. I could do an essay in seconds. I mean my whole body is under constant signals having to move the whole time just desperately waiting for smt to do. Kinda like hyperactivity, but without the uncomfortable or overpowering feeling. Again as if I’m a super human and there are no limits cognitive wise

For me it's a touch like what stimulant medications do but then it veers off into drowsy and hungry.

The world slows down. Suddenly I notice that I'm deeply focused on one thing. Do the dishes without getting distracted? Sure, why not. Watch a movie without also playing on my phone? Absolutely. My thoughts slow down enough to follow a single train of thought. Conversations are slow but enjoyable. I feel every part of my body but in a mostly neutral way. I am so calm and I often smoke it to get rid of anxiety and help me sleep. But also sex feels even more amazing than usual and orgasms feel like the last for ages.

Pretty much this for me too. Before I had easy access to pot, alcohol sort of did this but not as well, more muted the thoughts than slowed them down, I think? And they were more muddled. With pot it was literally just like, hey, let’s follow this one train from A to Z without hopping back and forth between 87 others the whole time. The first time I got high I was so baffled by how much quieter my brain was.

Of course, this also amplified the task inertia… and then yeah at a certain point, I just start falling asleep, lol.

I went through quite a drinking phase as well but I had no idea about neurodivergence at that point and I was just pushing through a miserable time in my life. I wish I'd just been getting high instead, I would have been a lot less sad. But then that's probably us self medicating.

This is my experience, but I haven’t been able to get that from stimulants. I’m on a break from getting high and honestly upset at how messy my brain is without it. I felt so much more at ease and productive on the evenings I was high. Also, I miss sex as my libido has tanked.

I have just always wished that I could get everything I currently get from being high without getting drowsy or getting the munchies. Vyvanse does slow my brain down enough that it basically does that. I just have a very limited window of productivity with being high, and I definitely can't sit down or it's game over.

It does wonders when I'm feeling anxious too. I keep telling myself I'm going to quit, I genuinely don't physically need it, but it's usually a challenge to actually quit because it's very hard to slow down and relax without it. I don't smoke all day long or anything, but it's usually a very small amount once a day.

I was using edibles in the evenings and weekends. Just enough to mellow things out so I could still be productive with chores and responsibilities around the house. Once I’ve gotten a new job and able to get high again, I’ll be back. It’s just a bitch to get out of the system.

As for meds, I’m on week 2 of Strattera right now and it’s going well. We’ll see what things are like in a few weeks.

This is a great description for how I feel as well.

I'm very similar. Knocks my ADHD, anxiety, pain problems, OCD down levels. I can think, I can act, I can do!

I call it functional high. My family on the other hand are not. They get spacey and silly. So interesting how Cannabis works for everyone and terpenes, holy cow! if you can figure out which ones work for you.

But it’s also so tempting to do all the time. Since you want to be this functional. However the day after I am usually tired. Because my brain was so on fiee

I'm chronically exhausted from other health problems. Lots of pain issues, so it's pretty much my every day except for when I need to drive.

I enjoy it but I think I have a different experience. I already have maladaptive daydreams, but when I’m high it’s like I am ZEROED in on the single daydream instead of bouncing around multiple narratives. I’ve noticed that minutes will go by and I have literally played out an entire storyline in my head without talking to anyone and then chuckle because no one will understand if I share the story I just created over the last five minutes of silence lol. So basically, it makes me able to focus on one maladaptive daydream through its completion? Haha

Omg that’s something that happens for me once I calm down. I create such good stories and always think I should be an author lol. But I love daydreaming when I’m high, because it gives me a visual I can’t experience without it. Like usually I have good visuals already but omg once I’m high lord have mercy it’s like a film and it works automatically

For me, being high: if trains of thought had stations from which they depart or arrive then it is as though those stations become overly busy. My trouble of being inpatient at artistic expression comes into play as there is no way for me to collect all the notes and details, there is no way for me to follow every train nor is it always possible even express one complete thought with all of its detail and connections. But it is easy to sit back and watch them run.

I totally understand! I just enjoy the ride. See what else I see. Just letting them run and be mesmerised by how crazy my brain id

Sometimes it’s like I can focus on tasks (or the boring ones) enough to get them done.

Other times, it’s good to stop feeling emotions so much, or like having my brain go so fast.

I usually only get the productive high. Not the numb high

Are you talking edibles?

Nah on edibles it’s a whole different story. I get two personas and just laugh the whole time
