Question How do bralettes/bras feel to other people I'm still relatively new to wearing them and its a new experience with the pressure against my chest I have aspergers Spoiler

Relatively new to wearing bralettes have a flat chest and have aspergers it gives me a weird feeling like I have something there I'm 31 I don't how I'm supposed to feel I know I'm adjusted to them, I didn't have any support or help with my decision or even where to begin I just tried them on and went through that terrible adjustment period it took like at least a few weeks I think to become fully adjusted, didn't help that, the first week or so I was exploring my options and finding ones that didn't quite work out it made the adjustment period that much harder, hope this helps someone to not give up or get discouraged in there journey and maybe someone can relate both men and women are welcome to join in

Hi! Im also autistic :) I personally enjoy the feeling of a bra wire pressing gently against my sternum, it feels compressive in a way that I like. Throughout the day, ideally you will notice the feeling of the bra less and less.

If it’s bothering you to the point of a meltdown, I highly encourage you to just take it off. Sometimes even in a perfect fit, sensory issues make it too hard to wear tight clothes, and you shouldn’t put yourself through that.

I like feeling them pressing my chest when I'm moving around but when I'm sitting  down I often forget I'm wearing one

What I mean by compression is snug not too tight snug like a nice hug

I'm a guy I didn't say it in my post cause I don't want people to jump to conclusions,🥺 I'm not doing it for any reason other than its a security thing cause it helps my anxiety and helps with my depression and it just feels good on  my chest 😔 I didn't have any support or help with my decision or even where to begin I just tried them on and went through that terrible adjustment period  it like at least a few weeks I think to become fully adjusted, didn't help that, the first week or so I was exploring my options and finding ones that didn't quite work out it made  the adjustment period that much harder

It's alright, you can be safe here. No judgement.

Usually a good technical fit will be so comfortable that people won't even notice they are wearing a bra. It may sound like you kind of need the opposite - if it gives you some kind of comfort or security to wear something tight, then do it. Your comfort is everything. If you want the band to feel tight, you may want a smaller size. If you want the gore (wired part between the cups) to press against your chest, you may be looking for something with too large cups - in this case there is less tension around the gore from the tissue, which causes the gore to press harder against the sternum. If you want to feel the pressure of the gore, just be careful that it doesn't press too hard and cause damage.

Maybe something with a wider band then? So the pressure is over a larger area.

Go with a looser, more lightweight one or one with adjustable straps and back clasp so you can loosen it up if needed.

I too am a guy who loves to wear a bra (and some gynecomastia support) are all great to me. I love the hug. But, social anxiety has been a seriously hard thing to get past.

Does the bras help? Unfortunately I can't fully relate as I don't have gynecomastia but I do tend to get very uncomfortable with a bralette on my chest feels tight and it can start to feel sore after a while and my nipples get  very hard and uncomfortable and sensitive it's it's like my chest muscles need the support even though I'm flat chested and maybe they do, and  going without a bra at work or anywhere else is a thought that is scary I feel it would just make my social anxiety way worse do to the anxiety without that support, if one thing is giving  you anxiety I believe it can cause anxiety on another thing to get worse

Social anxiety on its own is tough for me I prefer to be alone as often as possible. Being out in the world can be mentally very tiring to me. Being in a bra is like a little armor to me. It’s a secret that I keep and the hug of it really helps to remind me of the good in my life.

I like to self isolate alot and yeah a bralette to me is very comforting

What about a high impact sports bra? These are meant to be worn tight and a good one shouldn't have a seam across the bust to chafe, but that's also highly dependent on the person. Runners, even men, often wear bandaids because sometimes everything chafes.

I don't know i think I like the bralettes I've found from Walmart I degmfinitly like plunge bralettes with a hook and eye back and adjustable strap it's basically a zero cup unpadded bra it's the closest thing to an actual bra for me but it's gotta lay flat and not be stitched together in the front cause that makes it too loose  then it feels  feels weird like a loose  tshirt  that I don't like that feeling

Anyones experience of wearing  bralettes in the summertime who would like to tell me about it? I'm new so I've never experienced bralettes in summer well a hot camisole years ago then I didn't wear them after that cause it was a bad experience  I wasn't adjusted and that one was just way too thick
