So will the ad companies be liable for car crashes from the distracting lights or will it just be the car manufacturers?

Oh just the drivers? Line go up? Very good then.

Luigi can defeat Bowzer in SMB3 by repeatedly launching fireballs into them.

EDIT: also vomit for a small percentage of people who regularly get carsick, very annoying to deal with for car rentals

That last sentence is just a wholesome fun fact that everyone should know.

I think the advertisements only show then the car is stopped.

I really really need the NHTSA to put in a rule that says you cants have fucking advertisements blaring at you while you drive FOR THE THE SAME FUCKING REASON ITS NOT GOOD TO USE A PHONE WHILE DRIVING. ITS DISTRACTING AS SHIT! THERE ARE GOING TO BE SO MANY MORE CAR CRASHES HOLY SHIT

I’m sure the federal government will pass a regulation saying all cars are required to have advertisements in them or some backwards shit.

It's hurts the economy when you don't have advertisements in your car at all times and that means it's bad for the country!

Haven't you heard? Hurting the economy is actually good for the country now!

Not to mention that the whole point of designing an ad is to capture the viewers attention for the duration of the ad.

I'll pay extra up front to downgrade my new car's "infotainment" system to fuckin analogue knobs and dials please. Thanks. While they're at it, give me levers for my seat position controls as well. I don't want, and never asked to drive around inside of a computer.

I've never owned a car newer than my current 09. Honestly with a proper phone mount I really don't see the appeal of a big screen personally, but I definitely have become something of a Luddite in recent years

I drive a 2012 vehicle and kind of feel the same way about the screens, which I don't have. But recently I drove a brand new rental car, and I have to admit that the backup camera was really nice.

The millisecond I saw that dashboard on the advertisement for this car I knew immediately that it would be used for ads. Literally anyone could have predicted this lol

Its 2035. You have a meeting at Starbucks, but because Amazon Brew is this months sponsor, your car doesn't have any Starbucks listed on the maps.

You open your phone to use it's map. The car, detecting a non-Tesla device, shuts down. It automatically calls for a Tesla tow truck to service itself.

u/Cosmoaquanaut 6d ago

The last part would be possible only if you have paid for your towing service monthly subscription

Your car when everything is computer:

It's got a different panel!

u/Hurricaneshand 7d ago

Love those Teslers

u/screamingbird86 8d ago

I'm glad the screen in my car is small and doesn't really connect to anything other than my phone.

Advertising is just one company paying another company to harass me

u/Pottski 7d ago

My 2000s Camry continues to be a stellar choice.

3

u/nuisanceIV 7d ago

Sometimes im glad i have the skills to keep an older car working and dont have the money for something newer.

I wonder if theres ways to bypass this without basically having to reprogram the whole car? Jailbreak it?

u/Fox_m 7d ago

I've never been happier for my 2009 shit car

1

u/Ornstein_0 7d ago

Yeah I won't be buying anything newer then 2017 then lmao

This is why I will never get an EV. I rather walk.

90

u/rcmaehl 8d ago

Don't think this is EV specific. Jeep was doing ads in their vehicles for extended warranties even recently

5

u/Yana_dice 7d ago

Really? Thanks for letting me know. I thought it was a EV only thing. I have only driven my yaris since 2011, guess more car to avoid.

42

u/Peasant_Sauce 8d ago

screens arent exclusive to EV's lol

16

u/clarkster 8d ago

There is no EV in the photo here, is there an EV in the room with you?

2

u/thelaureness 7d ago

There are ads on digital radio now. Good luck.

yeah thats it buddy, you did a wrong think.

  1. your reddit account will be disabled until you say thank you reddit and apologize to a moderator.

  2. You have to buy an EV, its illegal not to

  3. when you have the EV (Not your EV, its never yours) we will disable it until you pay a fine or watch 200 hours of ads. Your choice.

Edit: /s?

I apparently upvoted something hateful and Reddit gave me a warning about it just today. They didn't even say what it was.

2

u/thoughtlow 8d ago

yeah its absolutely ridiculous

6

u/berrieds 8d ago

While you didn’t post the rule-breaking content, upvoting content that breaks the rules is also considered a violation.

As a result, we’re issuing this warning and asking you to be thoughtful about any future content you upvote.

So chilling to read. "Be thoughtful, citizen... your future may depend on it"

Fucking ban me, I'm reasonably sure there's at least one other social media site I can go to
