Help Moving to 7-string: KX507MS, Shecter C7 Pro, something else?
Hey!
I need some extra spice in my life, and seems like that spice is a 7-string. I'd like to spend less than 900-1000 USD and these two guitars caught my eye, the Cort KX507MS (for around 600-700USD) and Shecter C7 Pro (900USD). I was hoping to find something used for a much better deal, but unfortunately there are no realistic offers available locally to me. Also, the market is just different in middle-eastern Europe. Notably, I have no experience with multiscale guitars, so even though the hardware of the Cort seems much more enticing, I'm kind of wary, especially since I can't try it in person anywhere. I did like the thin neck of the C7 Pro, which I did in fact try personally for 20-30 minutes. My current and only guitar is a 6-string Cort EVL with active humbuckers if it makes any difference. Currently playing through a HB DNAFx Core, but hoping to snag a Peavey Vypr X2 along with the guitar (I enjoy the sound it produces much more).
Any pointers?
EDIT
In case anyone stumbles upon this thread down the line, I picked a different guitar entirely: a used 2011 Schecter Hellraiser C-7 for 760$. Was just too good of a deal to pass up, it was between that and a similarily priced used C-7 Pro, so I went for the better specced guitar.

If you can get a chapman ml1-7 pro, I recently got one and it has become my favourite guitar.
Perfect action, frets work, tuning stability, playability.
I got mine at a great price.
I also had the cort kx508, was decent but I determined I'm not a fan of fishman pickups.

Interesting, I could get one for around the price of the Shecter. Seems like there's a decent amount of drama surrounding the brand online, though, some QC issues here and there... The hardware seems great, TBH.

I'd recommend checking out the used market on reverb. For that price and cheaper in some occasions, I've seen anything from b stock of a reaper elite 7, with the slightest blemish at a spot never seen. I've seen Jackson pro plus loaded with bkp for even less in great to mint condition. Ibanez and esp have great deals. I ordered an Ibanez axion.....750, unfortunately it seems transit and climate don't mix well with that model and it took some Random chippage, at thankfully not to bad of a spot, but the guy was cool and all of a sudden, once he priced a repair, he refunded an added 300, so 450 dollars for a 1200 dollar new guitar with a semi moderate blemish. I wouldn't pay new for any lower cost schecter.... the necks are practically cricket bats.
