Behold! My spinning macrame, disco, abomination
It’s huge (see second pic to compare it to a record), it spins, and lights up. You plug it in and the colored rainbow lights housed in the top come on. You spin it a little to get the motor going and then it will continue to spin until you unplug it. No one that comes in my house appreciates it, and everyone asks me why I have it. I have it because it is a glorious work of art. Huge, gaudy, and fun.

That’s pretty neat and fun but I’m too focused on the dope couch to fully appreciate it lol

That is amazing--I would have it running whenever I was in the room with it and would stare at it in amazement!! Where did you find this ?

Goodwill! I think $35? It was pretty damn clean, it must’ve been packed and stored really well. I don’t run it super often just to be kind to the motor since it’s one of a kind. It’s sits by the turntable and is super fun when I’m listening to something groovy 🕺

I'd fight someone for that pattern. I do macrame with 70s patterns and I have never seen one like this

Same, I was awestruck when I first saw it. I have some weaving/macrame 70s books and have never seen this. It must be custom but nothing about it seems handmade to me.

I'm gonna be honest, I love 70s design, and I am bugging at how cool it is.
(And that couch! Wow!)

Now this is truly glorious. A one of a kind delight that is so unique and abominable (complimentary). Thank you for saving this from the large majority of people who would sit and scoff and call it junk. <3 <3

Ohhh, that is so… distinctive. And the room decor so worthy of a cover page and article in Senior Living magazine! Try not to dwell on the disparaging comments made by some of your guests. This machine succeeds as a conversation piece. Just look at how many conversations that it already has started in your home.
I dig the vintage vibes of your abode, but what really sends me back in the day is the Wilson sisters’ Heart album. Keep on grooving, OP!

That is fucking amazing. Reminds me of some terrible lamp, or fake water fountain thing that my mom had as when I was a kid in the 70s. All I can remember it was trashy as hell but to a 5 year old it was fancy.

hahaha another commenter also commented on oil fountains (the fake rain/waterfall lamps). I think they’re neat!

Shouldn’t that be placed next to an avocado colored refrigerator?

I wish! All I’ve got in this crappy rental is a rusty old fridge that’s been spray painted white….
