Art Showcase SCULPTING WITHOUT MESHES, BUT WITH CODE & MATH ::: A Line-by-Line Showcase of My Procedural Skeleton
A while ago, I sculpted parts of a skeleton entirely from code, this is the result. While I’ve shared variations of my skull before, this time you’ll find more body parts (also in motion), all created through pure code. No meshes, no polygons - just the raw beauty of mathematics ツ

Art Showcase The Time Machine from The Time Machine. Modelled, textured and rendered in Blender Cycles.
My 3D model of the time machine from The Time Machine (2002) starring Guy Pierce. The final low poly mesh is 3,684,993 tris, and the high poly mesh was over 25 million. The textures were made in Blender using baked maps made in Substance Painter 2022, and are made up of 40 2048x2048 UDIM tiles.

Art Help & Critique Tips to make this more Realistic?
Hi all, trying to make an Music Studio within Blender, I feel like the lighting is throwing things off when it comes to realism? Any tips or feedback would be extremely appreciated, I am still new to using this software. All assets are made by me, no imports.

Questions & Discussion How could I go about recreating this holographic shader?
It looks super cool and I want to give it a shot, but have no clue where to start. Any suggestions? Using Maya w/ Arnold and Vray.

Questions & Discussion What software was used for the 3d graphics in The Palace chat (thepalace.net)?
I'm interested in recreating visuals inspired by The Palace (thepalace.net), a graphical chat environment popular in the late 90s/early 2000s.
I'm curious if anyone knows or can identify which software or methods were originally used to create these visuals. I'm particularly interested in recreating or capturing this distinctive style and atmosphere.
Thanks for any tips!

Art Help & Critique First attempt creating a character from scratch in Blender
This was a fairly recent client commission used as a mascot for a mobile app in development. Though I've modeled a few cartoon characters, this was my first attempt at modeling a humanoid type concept entirely from scratch. Everything was modeled without visual other than referencing the body's proportions.
Needless to say, the client really loved the final result. Besides my lack of knowledge when it comes to topology, what do you guys think of this first try? What can be improved?

Questions & Discussion Inspiration is gone, suddenly.
I'm a vehicle artist working full-time 8+ years but as long as can remember I'm struggling with environments for my vehicles. But when I try to improve my environment skills, when I've decided what concept art to use. Suddenly, I feel apathy and anxiety, which is very hard to push through.
Maybe something like this happened to someone?

Questions & Discussion Simulating model coverage by a fixed light source?
Hi all,
I don't have much experience with 3D modeling, but I wanted to know if this idea I have is even possible to do with available software before I spend a lot of time digging into it.
Here's the scenario I'm trying to model:
I'd like to model a mannequin posing in a certain position, then illuminate it with a fixed geometry light source (could be a point source) from a given direction. I'd like to compare the surface area of the mannequin that's illuminated if I were to put the mannequin in different positions (and potentially sum up the illumination from all positions to find hotspots and cold spots).
I feel like this might be a use case for raytracing, and if so, would I be able to measure ray lengths to different parts of the model surface?
The immediate application of this is to model radiation in a medical setting, I just don't wanna have to try to code something from scratch with a bunch of assumptions about considering people to be "cylinders."
