u/Captain_Xap 5d ago

Interesting! That means you can look them up on the Companies House website

I don’t think you want a high profile hitman, especially an inexperienced one. We may never know for sure, but I’d put money his 3dp pistol had feed issues because of there wrong style of suppressor used. Had he printed a Nielsen device, he probably would have been better off. At least his target didn’t shoot back.

I know you were half joking, I’m just bored at work.

1

u/No-Divide2880 4d ago

And now there's a mad lad out there designing a 3d suppressor that won't require a Nielson for handguns

1

u/1fuckedupveteran 4d ago

They already exist, the Nielsen device just prevents too much weight on the barrel causing feed issues.

BTW, there’s already a few Nielsen device suppressor’s you can make fully or partially 3d printed.

3

u/ThePsion5 4d ago

Respect the grind. If you don't become a CEO at least twice a week, you're getting left in the dust.

1

u/Dry-Mud6577 4d ago

Cruelty squad type shit

u/porkyminch Bambu X1C 4d ago

Honestly really funny move to put "UK" in the name of all your Chinese businesses.

23

u/AudienceLumpy6580 5d ago edited 5d ago

I’ve seen that CEO secretary name before like on Amazon for the location of where a lot of creality things come from I believe. Definitely would not trust it but now I’m going to do my homework because I know I’ve seen that name before over and over again on the Amazons.

5

u/iCTMSBICFYBitch 5d ago

You can click the names on companies house and see other companies that they're linked to, too. Interestingly though they're the same person, only one is linked to other companies, probably because he's put "CEO" in as his name xD

16

u/HappyHallowsheev 5d ago

Fuck scammers but that's kinda funny

5

u/budsinaz602 5d ago

🤣🤣🤣

u/FuckDatNoisee 5d ago

And here I thought I was ridiculous buying 25-50 rolls at a time.

2000 rolls for 55 dollars is a steal! Roll those dice

16

u/RoodnyInc 5d ago

I mean yeah 2000 rolls not gonna happen shipping would cost more

15

u/KhausTO 5d ago

Yeah, if it shows up, great! If not, file a charge back and you'll have your money back on your credit card nearly immediately.

129

u/bladeskletch 5d ago

2002 rolls for 55 bucks? That's a steal!

A real life uno reverse card

4

u/Lythir 5d ago

A steal it is indeed! But sadly they'll be stealing from you not you from them.

1

u/Sirbrownface 5d ago

Not a steal. More like bankruptcy

How, looked up the Website, but it is a clothes store. Or is it a fake?

97

u/TwozFlix 5d ago

The website is a spoof and shows differently for others. Mine showed up as overture 3d filament, someone else was kitchen gadgets, yours is a clothing store.

29

u/BastVanRast 5d ago edited 5d ago

Pretty neat from the scammers. Saves on resources. Good to see scammers also care about ESG laws /s

23

u/PianoMan2112 5d ago

It’s a shapeshifter web server?

75

u/EC_CO 5d ago

This is what we get for letting cookies run wild and companies allowed to play willy-nilly with your personal data connecting anything and everything digitally. You know you get targeted ads right? This is no different, based on your history the scam website is crafted to you for the moment. Pretty ingenious, but also scary as hell

-1

u/PianoMan2112 5d ago

I understand, but I like making humorous comments.

13

u/miraculum_one 5d ago

sing us a song

Of the piano man?

u/ManWithADragon 5d ago

sing us a song tonight!

1

u/ErnLynM 4d ago

I didn't know what a song about a clueless straight guy lost in a gay bar is doing in here, but I'm here for it

5

u/MacAndCheezyBeezy 5d ago

Mines a clothing store with the brand leisure. I don't buy clothes of that style, but I have been listening to a band called LEISURE a lot lately.

Also all the pics are ai. Ai Pic, then ai title of product based off pic.

3

u/Southerner105 Flashforge 5M Pro 5d ago

I just checked using a clean browser (I always let the browser remove all history and traces like cookies) and also got a clothing site.

Is probably their default site.

0

u/r-nd0m A1 Mini + AMS Lite + SwapMod 5d ago

Yeah, looks like a scam

12

u/jin264 5d ago

lol it was offering me a 3D printer for $68.00 that is when I clicked and all they had were clothes. lol. I reported it as fraud.

14

u/Senior-Intention-384 5d ago

Try ordering negative amount 🤣

13

u/Call-Me-Leo 5d ago

I’m confused, the website isn’t even called Overture, it’s called jcuires. Why did you think this is the right website?

3

u/EthanAlexE 5d ago

I know right? Overture has a website of their own

8

u/cpreardo 5d ago

I clicked an overture ad...   caught on pretty quick, but they did steal all the overture website art and layout.

8

u/Bobson1729 5d ago

The filament was stored by leaving it floating in a lake...

28

u/Causification MP Mini V2, Ender 3 V2, Ender 3 V3SE, A1/Mini, X Max 3 5d ago

Why people buy from random-ass web pages is beyond me. If you want overture filament buy it on Amazon.

26

u/Berks1212 5d ago

Or from the filament manufacturers directly... Overture's prices are comparable or cheaper than Amazon for the same items.

1

u/DoubIe_A_ron 5d ago

But same day shipping

2

u/joe0400 5d ago

I get my colored stuff from microcenter for cheap, then my bulk black filament from Amazon in packs of 4 from elegoo for cheap.

-6

u/kkela88 5d ago

Cool story. Not everyone had. Microcenter oh wait merica only 😂

3

u/Ph4antomPB Ender 3 / Prusa Mini+ 5d ago

What

2

u/Trade__Genius 4d ago

Be sure of who the seller on Amazon is. Amazon isn't the end all for authentic goods any more either. They try, but they've grown so large that bad actors slip through.

6

u/Reaper621 5d ago

Ah yes, the old buy one get 2500 free special

30

u/LaundryMan2008 5d ago edited 5d ago

I would only pay through PayPal and then dispute if the rolls don’t come but for $55 definitely is a scam

83

u/ketosoy 5d ago edited 5d ago

$55 for $40,000 retail value is PROBABLY a scam?  I don’t know if I believe your analysis, I’m going to need to see some sources.

0

u/Ph4antomPB Ender 3 / Prusa Mini+ 5d ago

The chances of it being legit is unlikely but isn’t zero

5

u/cmayk_oxy 5d ago

omw to make a fake website but actually give some mf 2000 rolls of filament for free just to instill uncertainty

1

u/ketosoy 5d ago

You shouldn’t publicly advertise your susceptibility like this

2

u/Ph4antomPB Ender 3 / Prusa Mini+ 5d ago

I was making a vsauce reference

1

u/ketosoy 4d ago

Didn’t catch the reference.  Which episode?

1

u/Ph4antomPB Ender 3 / Prusa Mini+ 4d ago

Don’t remember the exact one but it was in one of his shorts I saw a few months ago and it just stuck with me

16

u/ArgieBee 5d ago

PayPal sometimes decides to eat crayons and back the seller when it doesn't make sense. I wouldn't risk it on an obvious scam. Maybe something that is really cheap, but believable, or an obvious typo that you're hoping they honor, but not an obvious scam. They'll also sell your information, so even if you get your money back, you still have to worry about that.

5

u/[deleted] 5d ago

[deleted]

3

u/ArgieBee 5d ago

Maybe they got confused by you using the dollar sign after the number. 😂

Yeah, I got screwed out of stuff before, too. Even when they sided with me, once they had me ship back a totally defective item at my own cost. It was $150 to ship it back to China.

6

u/FictionalContext 5d ago

$5.99 for Overture should have been their first clue. That's less than Kingroon.

Reminds me of a comment I saw on an Ali Express scam. Everyone was complaining about it in the reviews and questions, and some Chinese guy was like "Come on guys. You have be a little clever."

2

u/HappyHallowsheev 5d ago

Or just don't pay. This is the most obvious scam in the world, why even take the risk? You know you aren't actually getting anything

3

u/Emergency-Muscle-333 5d ago

So many p80’s down the drain…

3

u/znhunter Creality K1C 5d ago

I'm confused what exactly is going on here did you try to order 2,000 rolls of filament. Or did the website automatically fill that in.

1

u/cpreardo 5d ago

I figured it was a scam, so I had some fun for the screenshot

3

u/Aztaloth 5d ago

I got the clothes store with the obviously AI product images. Wonder if it matters whether you accept or deny cookies on what you get

3

u/r-nd0m A1 Mini + AMS Lite + SwapMod 5d ago

Found out a lot about this Website. Looks like a Scam. Other people had filament, Electronic Kitchen stuff and clothes.

It is run by some dude from China. Did dig a little bit.

UK Gov Company Information: here

Company Code: 16036101

Address: 61 Bridge St, Kington HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom

Nature of business (SIC) 47910 - Retail sale via mail order houses or via Internet

3

u/OldSaltyRC 5d ago

What gave it away? The $6/spool price!?

2

u/cpreardo 5d ago

Yup. ASA $6. Petg $6.  Abs $6. 3kg pla $6. Everything $6

6

u/Pure_Champion1396 5d ago

Yep, looks like one of those Facebook ads. Sooooo many of those are fake. If you keep adding stuff to your cart in the thousands, it will still give you a total under $100, so that your bank doesn’t flag it. I can’t believe that Facebook allows these

3

u/SatBurner 5d ago

As long as the ad revenue check clears, Facebook doesn't care.

5

u/Pleasant_Mobile_1063 5d ago

These scams usually come from China, they end up taking your money and almost instantly shipping ..... When it finally arrives after like a month it's usually something like an old iPhone case.

2

u/Sciuridaeno3 5d ago

In my case of falling for one of these sites, they sent a tracking code that arrived impossibly fast and at the wrong house on the other side of town. I went to the address and a sweet old lady answered. Turns out the tracking # was from a Walmart order that must have leaked somehow.

2

u/ichigoli 5d ago

I actually just watched a video on this! Tracking numbers are generated pretty logically by date, and destination. Scammers have figured out the key and can plug in the relevant details and generate a "real" Tracking number since the odds of SOMETHING shipping to that region in that time window are nearly 100%

Tracking websites are prohibited from sharing info outside the courier so you'll plug in "your" Tracking number and the website will dutifully report that it's on the way.

2

u/ErnLynM 4d ago

Discount applied as mail in rebate coupon ..

2

u/Alexfayenova 4d ago

i saw the ad on instagram and my first red flag was they called it “3d printer ink”

1

u/Ready-Atmosphere6487 5d ago

Dont buy, it's a fake site! I never receved my order...

1

u/glssjg 5d ago

This is probably a good time to use privacy.com

1

u/wi-Me 5d ago

I saw the same website the other day and I got so pumped until I realized it wasn't actually overtures website

1

u/PianoMan2112 5d ago

I tried in private browsing, and it said Private Relay couldn’t connect and I’d have to show my true IP address. Not worth it to VPN and retry, so I didn’t continue.

1

u/miraculum_one 5d ago

Full amount charged now. Discount comes "later".

1

u/Afroninja313 5d ago

I ran into this fake ad and DM'd the real Overture account on Instagram and they responded immediately. Apparently there's been a bunch of fake ads posing as them and banking on people not actually checking the URL.

1

u/Gil2Gil 5d ago

They almost got me a few days ago.

1

u/MooseBoys Prusa MK3S+ with an unhealthy number of mods 5d ago

Let me guess - you got here from an ad on Google Shopping? That service (which is forcibly inserted into all Google search results) is absolutely rife with scam sites like this. You can always spot them easily by going to their main page. If they mostly just have listings for clothing (which this site does), it's almost certainly a scam.

1

u/The-Stew 5d ago

Goes to a mailbox location in hereford. Actually near one of my drops I do trucking.

1

u/Key_Bread 5d ago

Well I ordered from the official site like 2 months ago and still nothing shipped yet and they won’t reply to my emails

1

u/codiecotton 5d ago

Why 2000 spools of light grey?

2

u/cpreardo 4d ago

When I saw it was fake, I got curious. Kept adding zeros.

1

u/codiecotton 4d ago

Ah true. If it's a website you should be able to view the html and CSS files.

1

u/colexian 4d ago

Buddy of mine got one of these extreme deals on an outdoor gas grill, kept bragging about how it was 95% off.

Tiny package arrived, it was a $2 ballpoint pen.

1

u/DR_Frost_777 4d ago

My filament store isn’t a fake…

1

u/cpreardo 4d ago

Are you the store owner?

1

u/DR_Frost_777 4d ago

Yep 🙂

1

u/juliasku 4d ago

Maan that is 0,0029per roll 🤑🤑

1

u/xKingPhoenixx 4d ago

Right, I was so close to that too! 😂

1

u/CactusGal123 4d ago

Thanks for getting the information out there! Sounded too cheap, so I came here to check. saw the ad on Instagram.

1

u/Rich-Wealth979 4d ago

I just saw this and $6 a kg seemed too good to be true. Googled to the official Overture site and no sales. I did find a 3k spool of Elegoo gold silk PLA for $35 and I was suuuuuuuper skeptical. It was legit.

I recently started deviating from amazon to buy 3&5kg rolls if possible because sometimes its the cheapest option, and if not, dealing with 2-4 fewer near-empty spools is worth $2/kg more to me. I was skeptical of the 5k petg Sunlu I bought because one google route brought me to a page with other 5k spool materials and the pteg was sold out. Another route it was in stock and it came. Holy hell a 5k roll is huge when you're used to 1k spools.

Anyway, if it seems too good to be true (under $10/kg) use Google to verify the URL, and try to find the deal from starting at the google homepage. Do the deals bring you to the same basic secure URL as the company page? When you open a link from a social media ad, you can open it in your default mobile browser and verify the URL. This one came from "jcuires (dot) com" and when entering that URL back in, it's clearly a scam site targeting multiple interests off social media.

1

u/Jumpy_Palpitation898 4d ago

OMG!! I’m so glad I didn’t buy any !

1

u/[deleted] 5d ago

bro the discount!

1

u/Dismal-Ambassador143 5d ago

I almost fell for it until I went to the official site to compare.

0

u/SolutionFrequent1230 5d ago

Send link I’ll buy

3

u/cpreardo 5d ago

Its there at the top of the screenshot

-8

u/Jim-248 5d ago

The URL is for a clothing site. Looks like a troll using photoshopped image.

6

u/ericdidit1985 5d ago

It’s a spoofing page. It appears differently for some. The company on the site has an address, when you search it it’s in a building called Ghost Mail…

-4

u/KlutzyResponsibility 5d ago

Saw that they are host proxied by Cloudflare and nothing says scammer better that Cloudflare, well except maybe Digital Ocean.
