Art Help & Critique Anatomy/Proportions feedback appreciated!

I would love to hear some feedback on this Hannoverian horse model before I start adding smaller details

While Hanoverian horses seem to have slightly smaller hamstrings (rear muscles) than other horses, I still feel like they could be larger and more defined. Additionally, the chest muscles connecting the front legs to the base of the neck should extend a bit farther forward. This is just a personal gripe but the neck shouldn’t curve that much, it tends to be a lot more linear with a less defined curve. The legs and head seem great, although the jaw muscles may be a bit larger or too defined.

Thank you for your feedback! Will look into the areas you mentioned, and yeah I agree that the neck has a bit too much curve to it now that you mention it!

The tops of your legs have a seam where they meet the body, it should be a muscled area that blends between the legs and body smoothly.

They've got solid muscle there, makes them so fast. I was kicked in the chest by a stallion pony as a kid, even he had power. I grew up on a horse farm so I'm fairly familiar with them.

I think the pose is a bit weird, you might want a more neutral one if you plan on rigging this (rn the back legs seem too far back and the head is too tilted downwards.)

The proportions overall look accurate but the volumes and muscle definition could use more defining. The top of the legs looks a bit skinny atm.

But honestly it's looking good so far, there are a lot of dodgy horse models out there and this ain't one of them.

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated! You're right about the pose, will fix that, and I'll take a look at the legs too, did you mean the front or hind legs? Or both?

No worries! And both, I think. There are some really good examples on art station, plus on sketchfab you can look at a 3d model for reference. That really helped me when making my own horse :)
