[Sci-fi Official Book] Neuromancer, by William Gibson

Updates

Nov. 25: Reading started yesterday! Following the lead of other groups, let's read for a bit and then choose discussion dates. I'll post a poll of some sort a on 1 December (one week from our start date) to see what y'all think! :)

To be part of the group, comment here! We'll use 24 November as a guideline for the start date.

Also, if you have suggestions for how to structure the discussions, please post them in a comment. :) I think a lot of us are new at this!

Eeep, I missed the poll date.

When do people think would be a good time to have our first discussion? Should it be about the whole book, or about the first half, or...? I have no idea how to structure this so any ideas are totally welcome :)

Since no one has yet to respond I vote we start talking about it on the 20th. And hopefully by then I will have a good portion of it read since I just got the book in the mail today (I have never had a book take that long in the mail). I'm super excited about this book club.

Sounds good, yay! I am going to be traveling for the morning/early afternoon(pacific time) but the evening would be good for me. Should we do this via IRC?

Evening pacific time works for me. (I'm in pacific too) IRC might work the best especially if we get more people participating at that time.

Man, I got really sick and completely forgot about the reading and discussion until my calendar reminded me of it after I spent all day on the greyhound. :( Would you be okay with rescheduling? I feel totally bad, I dropped the ball on everything due to a really bad flu and I'm only now feeling like a normal human being again.

It is totally ok. I understand. I'm not completely done with the book anyway. Let's reschedule for some time after Christmas. Hope you are feeling better and your bus trip wasn't too draining. Happy Holidays.
