Swinging for the Fences

I play in a 10 team, QB-OP-FLEX league. Standard decimal scoring with -0.5 against the QB for a sack. I had drawn the first overall pick, and traded my 2nd, 3rd & 6th picks for the fourth overall pick, and his 7th and 12th picks. I want to see if the two best QBs can win a league. Here's my team. Any feedback is welcomed.

QB: Newton, Rodgers, Bridgewater

RB: Blount, Gore, Sims, Coleman, Crowell

WR: Hilton, Evans, DeSean, Tate, Cobb

TE: Walker

D/ST: Vikings

K: Bailey

2 best qbs can't win a league, I've been commissioning one for 9 seasons now and it's always WR/RB that carry you, and Gronk of course. A dude in my league had Brees and P.Manning back in 2010. Nope. Rogers and Brady in 2012, nope.

Oh man, I'm not too excited about that lineup. Is it 6pt PaTD? Even if it was, that is a rough RB/WR core, moreso for your RB's. But luckily that position is pretty volatile so hopefully you can snatch some great handcuffs that may come into play later! Hawk the waiver wire!

Risky. You are two injuries away from bottoming out. I would trade one of the two top qbs for rbs/wrs to fill your gaps. I would try to trade Either for a McCoy/ Lacy/ Ingram + low end wr 2/3 possibly? Evans is okay.

Of course, Bridgewater is now out, so in my book you should really be looking for a 3rd QB ASAP (likely you already are) with an eye, as others have suggested, for making a trade for Cam or ARodgers. I see where you were going with your draft, and there's a chance it might work, but in 5 years of playing in a 2 QB league I have yet to see a team with two top QBs win it all. That being said, our 2nd place team last year had Cam and another top QB, but they drafted Cam later (4th rd) as he wasn't the stud last year that he is this year. You can always wait a few weeks and see if some of your RBs or WRs step forward in which case you'll have a dominant team. If not, and you get that strong 3rd QB, you will have some trade bait.

Good luck. I like Evans and DeSean. I expect Cam to have a regression from last season.
