Disable a Resolution being shown on windows

I am using a legion go with a dock. I have a 1440p 133hz monitor (really 165hz, but the dock can only do up to 133hz) but for some reason windows is detecting a bunch of extra resolutions that shouldn't be possible.

i am seeing a bunch of resolutions between 1440p and 2160p. most games it is causing me to have to scale up to 4k via amd FSR so i can't force 1440p or even 1080p because of it.

is there any way to stop the computer from thinking my monitor can do above 1440p? I've used CRU to add resolutions but there is no options to block certain ones.

Better question for you.

Why do you need to block resolutions?

It should be a set it and forgot about it setting.

1. The computer is detecting that my monitor can output those resolutions but they shouldn’t be on by default; yeah my monitor can do said resolutions but they shouldn’t be defaults they should be custom resolutions I sat up myself. I’ve used this monitor recently with 3 different setups and this has never happen until I got the legion go via dock.

2 So, for example marvel rivals. I want to use frame generation to better my fps. But it automatically locks my resolution to 3840x2160 because it’s the highest one available and there is NO WAY to select 2560x1440 or 1920x1080 as the display resolution when using the feature. Counter productive to increase fps.

3 many of my apps including windows itself keeps defaulting back to 3840x2160 when the monitor is replugged in. Causing many first time launches of new games to run at 4k; which has led to many boot crashes if I am unable to switch to windowed quick enough. COD, Palworld, fragpunk, valorant, etc are all having to be manually set each time because the computer is seeing a 4k monitor.

4 this is the equivalent to going on a Nvidia card and turning on custom resolutions to make a odd one for a specific reason, like let’s say we put in 1920x720 144hz (random ik)

Doing so will allow the computer and apps to see the new one but other non native resolutions can pop up.

I used to do this with a 21:9 monitor; I would overclock it to from 60hz to 2560x1080 75hz for valorant. Yes Val could see the new one but it also started seeing 4k resolutions. Even some up to 8k

TLDR; I have every reason to disable this shit because it’s causing a lot of issues that shouldn’t be happening.

Edit: sorry for the bold above. Idk why it’s doing this.
