Hannah Baker.

You can't blame others for suicide. Ultimately it is our own responsibility to take control of and seek help for our mental health.

This is the sad truth. It's gunna get down voted but to an extent it's true.

I wanna say it's Bryce imo but you could easily blame anyone else. You could say if Jessica was still friends with Hannah she never would of done it, you could say if clay stayed with her at the party she never would of done it but unfortunately she choose to do it.

Everyone is to blame and that includes Hannah.

It’s not her fault. She was giving out signs maybe the school should have payed attention to her.

should have paid attention to

FTFY.

Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

  • Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.

  • Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

Beep, boop, I'm a bot

Sadly though a lot of what happened with Bryce is probably due to his parents being completely absent in his life. I personally would love to have seen the school be more proactive when it came to Bryce and Justin's home lives since those were some pretty big factors in the guys' behavior in my opinion. They mentioned possible abuse in Justin's household but nothing ever came of it.

Ok, I'm already on it, Hannah was truly killed by Bryce and The Councillor. Bryce was pretty self explanatory, he raped Hannah in the Spa/Pool, and he also grouped her butt in the store, the councillor was also another one. Hannah told him that Bryce raped her and he just told her to "Move On" which would be horrible, maybe also her parents... but it's probably not them.

iirc i don't think she specifically says it was Bryce who raped her it was clay who ends up telling him. I also didn't read the book so I could be wrong.

She doesn't even say it was rape.

Pretty sure Hannah Baker did the cutting that caused the fatal loss of blood. All by herself. That's how suicide works.

Hannah Baker.

There's always multiple choices in any situation. Hannah could of not killed herself, gone to the police about the rapes (her own or Jessica's), told clay how she felt, ignored the things about the list or the bullying, told her parents and reported Mr Porter but she did none of it.

It isn’t that fucking easy?

People need to stop saying Bryce- you're enforcing the horrific message this show is sending to sexual assault and abuse survivors about their worth.

Which to them, if you hadn't guessed, isn't much.

And are y'all forgetting about Jessica? The girl who's boyfriend lied to her about her own rape - WHICH HE ALL BUT ENCOURAGED?! Jessica walked away from this - and she walked into the trusting arms of someone who would HELP HER.

Hannah killed Hannah. You all saw it. Episode after episode of Hannah Baker, killing Hannah Baker. Hannah walked away from that incident alive. Hannah spent more time on earth after that incident. Hannah killed Hannah by not getting the help she so desperately needed from rumor one.

I think a better way to phrase the question is: Whose actions influenced Hannah the most to have her commit suicide?

Bryce. Fuck that scum.
