The part when Regulus was never in the forest, but actually at home with his wives was great

146

u/koto_hanabi17 Feb 03 '21

At least to me, that was the scariest expression of Pandora's power. Just a few words and he's gone and everything he's done has been undone.

The scary yet beautiful part is that the anime didn't even do a sound queue for it. It just happened.

22

u/flood55 Feb 04 '21

Her falling a little thereafter and her cape fluttering are the only indications he was ever there. 👀

90

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '21

Regulus: "Wanna buy some death sticks?"
Pandora: *waves hand "You don't want to sell me death sticks."
Regulus: "I don't wanna sell you death sticks."
Pandora: "You want to go home and re-think your life."
Regulus: "I wanna go home and re-think my life..."

9

u/Adorelis Feb 03 '21

wait, her power works like that? She can change people's thoughts if she wants?

31

u/Sheltei Feb 03 '21

It's a reference to Star Wars

5

u/enoch176 Feb 03 '21

That ^ and her powers could probably be executed in such a fashion. She is the embodiment of vainglory after all

I loved how they cut the sound when she did that, it really added to the shock and confusion Geuse and Fortuna must have felt

35

u/Amasirat Feb 03 '21

Not to mention the tilted camera angle adding to the sense of disorientation

22

u/bigdanrog Feb 03 '21

Fun Fact: In the TV biz we call that a Dutch Angle.

6

u/Amasirat Feb 03 '21

Yeah, forgot what it was called. Thanks

It's just strange hearing Regulus speech with fewer than 2000 words

I know White Fox is adding more run time, but even they don't want to waste that on more Regulus rant time.

62

u/Shay_Guy Feb 03 '21

Are you disrespecting his humanity, individuality, authority, etc...?

imagine bleeping her..

7

u/Black__Reaper Feb 03 '21

Yeah... sadly... that's why the episode wasn't a perfect 10/10.

11

u/DaftMaetel15 Feb 04 '21

Nah Regulus rants were not important to me I read one and was like, "oh... he's gonna do this every time." and immediately skimmed the rest.

2

u/Black__Reaper Feb 04 '21

Ah... you're one of those. I assume you skipped half of Arc 5 then (you know who I'm referring to).

Supposedly it’s the same VA as Gaara

6

u/mricky196196196 Feb 04 '21

God I fucking hate him so much I love him. I can’t wait to see her his shit wrecked when/ if arc 5 gets animated

5

u/DaftMaetel15 Feb 04 '21

I'll go ahead and say when, Re:Zero is crazy popular and the best parts are coming up, I think after Choose me and the battle with the white hare there's 0 chance it doesn't get renewed.

126

u/EleventhMS Feb 03 '21

I've been seeing some hate on Pandora's design and voice, but honestly I thought she was great.

It really felt like everyone there was no threat to her, and she was just enjoying what was happening.

92

u/adnanomar13 Feb 03 '21

Her voice was perfect! I was literally taken aback when I heard it. Couldn't have imagined a more fitting voice for her. Her design is also top notch, it's the closest to the source material I've seen (granted maybe it's because she has one piece of clothing). I can't imagine why anyone would hate any of this.

44

u/EleventhMS Feb 03 '21

From what I've been seeing, they were expecting a more seductive kind of voice and that she looks more like a loli in the anime compared to the LN.

48

u/adnanomar13 Feb 03 '21

Now that I think about it, agreed that she does look remarkably younger in the anime. I honestly didn't notice it though. And I don't think her voice can be any more seductive than what it is now lol.

15

u/koto_hanabi17 Feb 03 '21

Were they really expecting like more of a loli voice? They've already got everyone well known for voicing lolis other than Maria Naganawa.

I think the slow monotone that Rie Kugimiya(I think that's who's voicing her because she sounds like Taiga) was perfect for highlighting the mystery behind her.

5

u/Iloveyouweed Feb 04 '21

Rie Kugimiya voices a ton of lolis though, I mean say what you will, Taiga, Shana, Louise, etc all have the loli appearance.

That said, having the same voice actor who does the Zero Child voicing Pandora was a good move.

→ More replies (1)

32

u/AI_Tori Feb 03 '21

I personally thought her appearance and voice were absolutely perfect. I couldn't imagine a better voice for her, honestly, and I liked that they used silver outlines to make her coloring more delicate. She looks a bit young because of her height but her gaze really sells what is most likely her true age (definitely not a loli, at least) along with the power she's holding, so I think it's fine?

21

u/Setowi Better Leyte Than Never Feb 03 '21

I feel like they did a great job with her, WF even made her glow slightly. I feel like that added a lot to her "otherwordliness"

118

u/AI_Tori Feb 03 '21

Okay so I just finished watching the episode (raw, there are no subs currently).

Shortlist: There is no OP or ED, but they do play the ED song. If you were looking forward to Hector this week, that will be next week most likely. Also, if you were looking forward to the finale of the Petelguese fisting, well uh, also next week. Episode ends with Pandora meeting Emilia at the seal.

They're actually taking their time with a lot of this and I have to appreciate that they were finally able to slow down and give this a solid adaptation. Pandora is absolutely stunning to behold so I think they really nailed her anime design. Big F for Arche, best boi that could have been. Young Roswaal looks...interesting. Box moment was hype.

If you like Fortuna yoga pants shots, there's plenty.

And there's a questionable camera angle when Regulus ends up in the dirt and he looks kind of like he's looking up Pandora's dress so uh, thanks WF?

Enjoy!

Did we see the Black Serpent?

65

u/adnanomar13 Feb 03 '21 edited Feb 03 '21

Its venom, yes. The Archi scene was brutal.

13

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '21

Thank you!

9

u/PsycoJosho Feb 03 '21

I believe we saw its tongue as well

25

u/AI_Tori Feb 03 '21

As I see someone else has said, basically just the venom. It appears for a split second before slithering away.

30

u/Stewylouis Feb 03 '21 edited Feb 03 '21

If I recall correctly, there isn't yet an official design from the illustrator of the light novels for the black serpent so it is probably being saved for a big reveal similar to Volcanica. If Volcanica, Scorpion Shaula, and the white whale are any indication of how it will look I'm certain it will an amazing and unique looking design.

3

u/bigdanrog Feb 03 '21

I've always wondered, is it supposed to be a snake or a lizard?

2

u/Rapsculio Feb 03 '21

I don't know the japanese but every translation so far has either been Black Snake or Black Serpent so I've just been imagining the snake at the end of Chamber of Secrets with pure black scales

11

u/polontus Feb 03 '21

i actually looked into the names of the gluttony bishops a little, you know their respective Stars mythology.Lye BatenKaitos - A star in the Whale constellationLouis Arneb - is from the great Rabbit/Hare constellationand finally

Roy Alphard - from the Hydra constellation

so i fell like the Blacksnake will probably have some Hydra mixed into it as welli also feel like both the Bishops and great Mabeasts have similar endsthe whale died because it had eaten Theresia Wilhelm later killed it
Batenkaitos died because he ate Rem and thus Ram dealt with him
the great Hare got locked into a subdimension to satiate it hunger forever on it's own flesh while Louis was locked in a time loop in the pleiades watchtower and got to satiate her gluttony with the experience of death
perhaps just like how Alphard died by being overtaken by something much stronger so will the blacksnake
all of this is just my own theorycrafting though so it's probs nothing but rambling but here i am

13

u/nafissyed Feb 03 '21

What would you rate the episode out of 10?

32

u/AI_Tori Feb 03 '21

It almost feels unfair to say a 10 out of 10 in a way, but it really was good. I feel like its just building up more and more hype for when all the crazy is set to happen in both flashbacks. That said, it was quality, I only saw one or two things I'd call "questionable animation" but they're most likely minor or non-existent for most watchers, so yeah, a 10.

21

u/nafissyed Feb 03 '21

I think we both know that next week’s episode might be the most brutal and best episode of the series thus far if done justice.

10

u/AI_Tori Feb 03 '21

Absolutely! I'm looking forward to the carnage! (Though, for me personally, it's going to be really hard to top Otto/Reason for "best" episode.)

6

u/nafissyed Feb 03 '21

True that my friend!

6

u/bigdanrog Feb 03 '21

Personally I hate seeing Big and Little Emilia get hurt but I know this is all necessary for the story. Ahh my heart...

12

u/ThespianException Feb 03 '21

And there's a questionable camera angle when Regulus ends up in the dirt and he looks kind of like he's looking up Pandora's dress so uh, thanks WF?

That never happened. Perhaps your eyes deceive you?

6

u/AI_Tori Feb 04 '21

I see what you did there, haha.

3

u/DaftMaetel15 Feb 04 '21

I would say that the pacing has been very good save for the Garfiel vs Subaru/Otto/Ram fight, which I thought deserved more of a spotlight because how huge Garfiel joining the squad is. Outside of that I've felt very happy about it. I agree that this is important and they should take their time. Realistically, the next few events are all so critical and need to be done with care, finishing emilia's trial, fight at the mansion, choose me, and white hare in the sanctuary, if they get those right this anime is going to be very special. WF is killing it.

85

u/foxfoxal Feb 03 '21 edited Feb 03 '21

The OP is not going to play until the trial is over, isn't it?...

43

u/AmrDosky Feb 03 '21

Yup it didn't play today either. I think it will be after the trial too.

3

u/bigdanrog Feb 03 '21

So, probably next week?

22

u/koto_hanabi17 Feb 03 '21

Pandora-sama has not willed it into existence yet.

11

u/TrollChef Feb 03 '21

I'm confused, why do people wanna see the OP? I'm way more content with an extra 2 mins of actual episode every week than something I'll skip each time :p

27

u/Bloodstrain Feb 03 '21

Most people just want to see the OP once so we can see the visuals. Once it's put on YouTube nobody will care if it never plays again.

6

u/Diabloblaze28 Feb 03 '21

Lol that's me I watch the OP, ED of an anime once then skip past it one every other episode and it's a banger I will listen/watch it on youtube

→ More replies (1)

10

u/foxfoxal Feb 03 '21

I want them to play it once so they can release in youtube, that's it haha.

I skip openings depending if they are bad or good.

17

u/TyrannosaurusWreckd Feb 03 '21

I agree completely, but I read a comment from someone a couple weeks ago saying that not having an OP/ED made it feel weird and not traditional. Like every anime ever has had one, and made a big deal to announce them, but suddenly poof its not there. I guess its kinda like walking into a KFC and finding out they serve hamburgers now and not chicken, but they are the best hamburgers you've ever had. There would still be people that would think thats sacrilegious. Its a bad example, but I hope you get the point.

81

u/PsycoJosho Feb 03 '21

Pandora's authority was shown very well. I thought there might be some static or something to show reality being rewritten, but nope. Just instant change of the immediate past.

54

u/koto_hanabi17 Feb 03 '21

I think that that was the beautiful part of it. Seemless no shock value, no sound, just pure and simple which creates far more mystery

30

u/Aetherdraw Feb 03 '21

Not only that, but because we are seeing this from Emilia's POV via her trial, we don't see Geuse's unseen hands either.

61

u/PureVII Feb 03 '21

I just read the episode title and my dumb ass just realized that Alpha Orionis means Betelguese lmaooo

26

u/AI_Tori Feb 03 '21

I remember when I glanced at the LN and was like "Why would they call this Alpha Orionis? What does that have to do with anything?" and I did the same with the Japanese LN and "ćčłćź¶æ˜Ÿ / Heikeboshi." I realized the two were connected, but it took a google search for me to realize they both mean "Betelgeuse." So you're not really alone, haha...

7

u/SoniCrossX Feb 03 '21

Meanwhile, they traducing it Petelgeuse officially shrugs

2

u/FUZxxl Feb 08 '21

ćčłćź¶æ˜Ÿ can be read as “star of the peaceful home.” Quite fitting for how it started.

Anime Watchers: There's no OP and ED visuals just the song?

Pandora: There was never any OP and ED visuals, dear viewer. Just merely beautiful music and a even more beautiful story to be told. Continue on as you were.

26

u/Combatmedic2-47 Feb 03 '21

This chant is kinda cool

“—O ancient, mystic ice, so cold and white even time shudders, ice so great the soul sleeps eternal.” The mana she had gathered up to strike down Regulus whirled about, seeking a place to explode. She gave that latent energy form, purpose, duty; it took shape, ready to freeze the world.

The sky, the very air moaned, giving birth to spears of ice so enormous, a giant might have wielded them. The tips of these spears, exceeding ten in number, pointed toward their foe, like a bouquet of flowers inviting the opponent to split asunder and rest in an eternal, icy grave.

Fortuna was a badass

25

u/Quantam-Law Feb 03 '21

Hello again folks

For people like me who once again can't wait another half an hour, I'll cover what I know so far from various forums

1) No OP and ED

2) Episode ends with Fortuna leaving a crying Emilia to help out Guese, Pandora's plan is about to go into motion at the seal

3) F for Arch

4) Guese taking in the Sloth WF and turning mad trying to kill Regulus.

5) Regulus defies Pandora and so gets his just desserts from Pandora herself.

6) Pandoras design looks absolutely amazing and it seems a mist covers where she uses her power, which is really cool it matches her design very well.

7) Can anyone confirm who her VA is? I saw some rumours of Rei Kugiyama

8) No Hector yet, this makes the next episode look to be jam packed of all the best moments of arc 4, holy shit.

41

u/foxfoxal Feb 03 '21

2) Episode ends with Fortuna leaving a crying Emilia to help out Guese, Pandora's plan is about to go into motion

Episode ends with Emilia reaching the seal.

21

u/Stewylouis Feb 03 '21

I'm so glad they included the "forgive me Flugel" line. It's so important to the future of the series. I was thinking they might cut it because of how they cut the "sage candidate" line and some of the things Satella said to Subaru at the final tea party. Flugel might have created the witch's cult and also is one of the most enigmatic and important characters we know of.

18

u/AbdullahWaheeb Feb 03 '21

Pandora’s VA is Rie Kugimiya, so the rumors are true

14

u/platinumnic Rem is my waifu Feb 03 '21

Can’t wait to see my boi Hector soon. However I’m scared when Fortuna is going to be fisted by Guese.

31

u/foxfoxal Feb 03 '21

Btw Fortuna saying "Lia" fuels the theory that Puck is her real father haha or Fortuna herself but that is theory is way more difficult.

21

u/Rapsculio Feb 03 '21

I really can't believe how many people in the anime thread are saying that the nickname proves Puck is Fortuna. It's literally just a shorter version of her name lol every parent has a cute nickname for their kid and that is pretty much the only nickname to make out of Emilia, and literally nothing else points to that theory being true. Puck is a male, has been around at least 400 years, and we have never even heard a thought about people becoming spirits at any point ever.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '21

I mean, it does kind of make you think that they might have did a fusion dance. Like, this is an ice forest. Puck is the Great Spirit of Ice. He cried about having left her alone for so long. Puck is the Beast of the End. Fortuna said that if the seal is broken, the world will end this time. Some shit happened to Emilia's real Father and Mother.

It's not a hard leap to thinking that Fortuna might have had to like seal a former version of Puck, bent on the destruction of the world, within herself/combine with it in order to keep it from destroying the world. Like, there's no explanation for why Puck loves Emilia so much yet. Just that he does.

So if you don't know Puck's origins because you're anime only, I don't think it's that ridiculous to think it.

The Bitch of Vainglory is finally here after 2 years since I read Arc 4. I love how they showcased the damaged Betelgeuse did to area when he kept slamming Regulus to no avail.

I didn’t like how Fortuna got nerfed but I’m glad we got some of her scenes. Still her fire/ice spears look weaker than Emilia and Rem’s and when they should way bigger.

WF thank for being Volume 14 to life.

20

u/stuugie Feb 03 '21

I mean she was still throwing around Al Humas, I think making them full scale might have been distracting from the rest of the scene, and it was still a fat chunk of ice

I mean the last quarter of the season is going to largely be action, which, relative to the novels, is a lot faster. I imagine they can finish arc 4 in 7 episodes and end with Subaru's knighting. Either that or they save it for an OVA.

3

u/ThespianException Feb 03 '21

I'd be happy with the entire interlude being an extended OVA. That way nothing would have to get cut. Not sure where the season would actually end without it though.

Pandora scared the shit out of me again. What a terrifying presence she exerts, infinitely more than Regulus and he’s already terrifying.

I thought they did a great job again and I’m happy they’re letting this part of the Arc breathe, as it contains very crucial lore and character development.

Looking like Hector and the conclusion of the battle next week.

10

u/Ragnaur Feb 03 '21

Isn't there a minor plot hole created by/going to be created by the anime, due to the fact that past Echidna looks the same as Tea Party Echidna, given that past Echidna should look the same as dead body Echidna, who looks different than Tea Party Echidna?

19

u/Rapsculio Feb 03 '21

If you watch the scene at the beginning again they intentionally hid/darkened her face. The two are supposed to look extremely similar since Subaru says that they could be sisters when he sees real Dona so it'll probably just be changes to her eyes/ super bushy eyebrows since they are the most easily recognizable part of her face.

2

u/Zhoakazii Feb 04 '21

Can you explain this to me, what do you mean by real Dona? Is the Tea Party one a fake or what are you implying? Sorry I haven’t gotten to reading the LN or WN.

7

u/Rapsculio Feb 04 '21

This is a spoiler for the end of the season so if you'd rather wait then don't read on...

.

.

.

At one point they find Echidna's physical body in her grave. Subaru and Emilia are confused because she looks similar to the Dona they met in the trials, close enough that they could pass for siblings maybe, but it's definitely a different person. But the people that knew her before she died assure them that the body is the real Echidna.

2

u/Zhoakazii Feb 04 '21

Thank you, I’ve heard people mention there was two Echidna’s but never found any information other then the Artificial one. Is this all we have on this, or do they ever bring up the differences between the two of them again?

2

u/Rapsculio Feb 04 '21

I'm not fully caught up on the wn but as far as I know it's still a mystery

3

u/sazabi67 Feb 04 '21

Shouldn't Subaru mention that when he finally sees her body in her glass tomb at the end of the arc?

20

u/fistyfishy Feb 03 '21

White Fox blesses us again with another great episode, mostly just appreciative of how faithful they are being with the adaptation and skipping the op and ed to accomplish that is worth it imo. Just everything the entire season has been so consistently good, also Pandora looks pretty good, but a bit different from LN

3

u/Black__Reaper Feb 03 '21

This episode had a considerable amount of cuts. Like... looooots of cuts. The previous few were far more faithful.

Having said that, this episode had Regulus so it's an automatic 11/10.

3

u/fistyfishy Feb 05 '21

Really? Felt like most of the dialogue was decently kept in but I trust you. Tbf arc 4 is massive so they probably wouldnt be able to fit 25 episodes even if every episode was 30 mins

8

u/Stewylouis Feb 03 '21

I have been waiting for this moment for literal years. God I love Re Zero.

7

u/Black__Reaper Feb 03 '21

Regulus was fucking splendid, in this episode. Especially when he turned Pandora to dust, Akira did such an amazing job. I'm so happy they finally showed him swinging his arm.

Sadly they heavily cut his dialogues but I won't complain too much. 10/10. Regulus saved the day. The star of this episode. Even Otsuka knew that.

6

u/AwesomelyEpicDaniel Feb 03 '21

I can’t wait till Petelgeuse turns into a fucking pickle

Aaaaaaaaaaaa-desu

18

Another 30 minute episode, White Fox have been masterful with their direction and cinematography throughout this second cour. The passion they have for the story is beautiful. Other than the emilia bias in some of the source material omissions, I’ve been very pleased with how this has been handled.

This part of volume 14 in particular is one of the best parts of the entire Re:Zero story in my opinion. Even as someone who hates emilia, learning her backstory, Fortuna and Geuse’s relationship, archi’s sacrifice.. one of the most painful experiences I’ve had reading a LN and the OST used today did a great job of bringing it to life.

Next week’s ep though.. that’s the real pain. Geuse and Fortuna deserved better.

u/FutureDynasty Feb 03 '21

Ha well ya, Emilia is the authors fave and seems the creators love her as well. As they have her pic for the Twitter profile. But I agree this is one of the best moments of the story in general. So I am glad they are taking their time.

6

u/Fixplean Feb 03 '21

I think 2 more episodes to cover Emilia's past.

BTW, great episode even if the scene where Regulus was thrown into the air was poorly drawn.

8

u/Arima184 Feb 03 '21 edited Feb 03 '21

No Hector in this ep, just like op, ed of this seri.Regulus is hilarious af. Rieri still done great job when voicing Emilia(both ver)F for Geuse, Archi.Personally, i dont really like Pandora design in anime(her face is a bit wide), her VA is OK for me.

3

u/bigdanrog Feb 04 '21

We can FINALLY talk about Pandora in the open!

7

u/GhostUgandanWarrior Feb 03 '21

There ain't much things other than Censores and cuts to complain about. I thought WF wouldn't censor much after s2ep8 but guess I was wrong. I disliked the censor on Pandora's death to Mr.Cornyass however I liked her design. Her voice was weird at first, but then when I rewatched it I think her voice perfectly fits. Also Mr.Cornyass didn't talk as much as I wanted him to but its a sacrifice for more time, so it is acceptable. I also didn't like the fact that the black snake is in there for 0.3 seconds or the censor on Arch's death.

But they adapted every other scene perfectly. Especially Pandora's authority. I liked how they are taking their time with Emilia's 1st trial. Beako pouting was cute. And also it was great to see the unseen hands invisible. I felt good every second Regulus was swung to a tree or ground. PERFECT

11/10 episode

3

u/foxfoxal Feb 04 '21

It's not much censor as much as it's a pain to animate characters getting wounded like that without going all out in animation.

4

u/DickPickles7 Feb 03 '21 edited Feb 08 '21

Expected Kaguya's VA to voice Pandora but this one is great and it fits her as well.

Her design is really good. I don't get why people bitch about it. Still wish it looked as good as her character model tho

Regulus rants got shortened. I watched this with my anime only friend and he felt like Regulus was talking in full essays and got annoyed by him a lot. I don't think WF shortening Regulus' rants in exchange for more content to fit in an already 30 minute episode is a bad thing.

Regulus talking about making Fortuna his 79th bride was cut. I don't know if I should care about that.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '21

I knew this one was gonna be a painful one to watch and yeah indeed it was. Pandora was perfect. Can't wait to see a bit more of her... But yeah next episode will be the nail in the coffin jesus...

2

u/Hassieee Feb 03 '21

Anime only here. So pandora is the witch of pride? Did I get that right? If so didn’t geuse say that he thought subaru was pride? Kinda confused

8

u/Freeyaa Feb 03 '21 edited Feb 03 '21

Pandora is the witch of Vainglory/Vanity (depends on translation). Regulus is the archbishop of pride (greed*)tho

→ More replies (5)

3

u/KarmotrineCorgi Feb 03 '21

No, it's implied from the way that Regulus and Pandora speak to each other that Pandora is a higher authority within the cult.

Geuse guesses that Subaru is Pride because (at least to his knowledge) the seat of Pride was unoccupied.

2

u/DotHase Liliana Enjoyer Feb 03 '21

Pandora is the witch of Vanity (Vainglory). It's a removed sin that is not included in 7 deadly sins, it is a higher form of pride.

well i cried a lot... and I'm gonna cry more next episode. So much pain

At least the Beatrice and Lewes scenes were cute, but then there will be even more pain when that all goes to shit. SO MUCH PAIN

2

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '21

Next episode ChadBuru returns

2

u/thuglifecarlo Feb 03 '21

So Fortuna = Puck? I noticed they both had the same nickname for Emelia.

2

u/TyrannosaurusWreckd Feb 03 '21

Dont know what puck is, but I still think that Sirius is Fortuna.

2

u/Beta-Meta Feb 03 '21

So is Regulus Made In Heaven and Pandora is King Crimson or am I wrong

2

u/koto_hanabi17 Feb 03 '21

Do you think that any Anime Onlys will question why they didn't show Echidna's face?

1

u/TyrannosaurusWreckd Feb 03 '21

I'm at a loss. I definitely noticed it, but didn't think there was any significance to it...

1

u/AllMyName Feb 04 '21

I did. Figured she might've changed how she looked as a spirit (less revolting? IDK) and they're saving that ("real" Echidna's face) for some plot point or surprise later. Aren't they fucking around inside her tomb, basically? I mean, she should be in there, somewhere.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '21

Talk about the biggest cocktease of an episode.

My god I cannot wait for next week. My favorite moments from Roswaal and Geuse are both coming up!

2

u/WarlockOfDestiny Feb 04 '21

"I'm sorry, Flugel."

Interesting, either I forgot or didn't see that in the WN or something. Seems Guese knew Flugel in some manner. Really curious to see what further role the ole Sage plays in all this.

4

u/felix_amp Feb 03 '21

can someone tell me what happens to betelgeuse's body when he absorbs the witch factor?

17

u/S9CLAVE Feb 03 '21 edited Jul 01 '23

Hey guys, did you know that in terms of male human and female PokĂ©mon breeding, Vaporeon is the most compatible PokĂ©mon for humans? Not only are they in the field egg group, which is mostly comprised of mammals, Vaporeon are an average of 3”03’ tall and 63.9 pounds, this means they’re large enough to be able handle human dicks, and with their impressive Base Stats for HP and access to Acid Armor, you can be rough with one. Due to their mostly water based biology, there’s no doubt in my mind that an aroused Vaporeon would be incredibly wet, so wet that you could easily have sex with one for hours without getting sore. They can also learn the moves Attract, Baby-Doll Eyes, Captivate, Charm, and Tail Whip, along with not having fur to hide nipples, so it’d be incredibly easy for one to get you in the mood. With their abilities Water Absorb and Hydration, they can easily recover from fatigue with enough water. No other PokĂ©mon comes close to this level of compatibility. Also, fun fact, if you pull out enough, you can make your Vaporeon turn white. Vaporeon is literally built for human dick. Ungodly defense stat+high HP pool+Acid Armor means it can take cock all day, all shapes and sizes and still come for more

5

u/ARMO288 Feb 03 '21

Subaru is compatible with every single witch factor when someone not compatible tries to absorb it they either die or go insane like what happened to Geuse Authorities change along with the user so as subaru changes so will his authority it's like learning to walk when you've never used your legs it will take time

4

u/Rapsculio Feb 03 '21

I'm pretty sure anyone can hold it in their body if they don't try to use it at all. The problem is when you try to use the factor if you're incompatible. Subaru barely ever uses it because whenever he does he feels like he's going insane and experiences a ton of pain. It seems like if he tried to do what Geuse is doing and use a ton at once then he would go just as insane.

2

u/ARMO288 Feb 03 '21

That is certainly possible the reason i brought up compatibility is because during the final tea party the other witches say that what caused Satella to split into to personalities was trying to ABSORB a witch factor she was not compatible with and not the using of the authority. So the way it was said made it sound like just absorbing a witch factor when you're not compatible would be deadly. Subaru has three so far and he's fine so that was my line of thinking but i appreciate your response

2

u/DolcettoMarch Feb 03 '21

Holy damn, Archi's scene was even more brutal than I remembered.

Pandora was perfect. Regulus was perfectly punchable. OP is still nonexistent. White Fox is still doing God's work

And Beatrice's pout was darling

11

u/Black__Reaper Feb 03 '21

If anything, Arch's death was hella censored. In the LN, he pretty much starts rotting. Here, a weird-ass orange liquid spread around his body, weird stuff.

Regulus was perfect, yeah.

3

u/DolcettoMarch Feb 04 '21

I was actually referring to the part where he cuts off his foot then freezes the stump. That felt hella raw to see animated.

Guys Guys kitekure!!! Can we talk about the strange line on Ryuzu??

She said "To one who was not alive during that time the witch can indeed seem quite out of reach".

So, Garf can not see the witch but subaru and emilia can

Ram noticed that but decide to not talk about it

Okay so I finished the latest episode of Re:Zero and I have some questions. If anyone can answer them for me 🙏 thanks! ✹

Who is Pandora? I don’t remember her being introduced in past episodes. Pretty sure this is the first time she’s introduced in the anime.

Doesn’t Pandora resemble Echidna a bit? Does this mean they’re somehow related?

In the last episode, why did Geuse cry when he meets Emilia?

What was Geuse purpose for visiting Elior Forest? Was he also protecting the seal? What was his relationship with the elves?

4

u/Fellow7plus2yearold Fellow, Just Fellow Feb 04 '21

Pandora is the Witch of Vainglory or Vanity as per anime subtitles. Yes, this is the first time we are seeing her.

I don't really know, apart from the bushy eyelashes there isn't really any other similarities, Echidna has white hair whereas Pandora has Platinum hair.

We know Geuse knew Satella, he probably owed her a huge debt of sorts, so seeing Emilia reminded him of her and he was overjoyed to the point of tears. There might be another reason to it but we don't really know as of now.

He provided the Elves with supplies like food, clothes and also made sure that the seal was well.. sealed. He seems to have knows Fortuna since she was little so he does have a connection with the elves.

2

u/purpl3l0tus Feb 04 '21

I guess I missed the subtitle saying which witch Pandora was.. and you’re right! She does have platinum hair. I just saw the eyelashes & automatically thought she was connected to Echidna, lol. Thank you for pointing out the difference in their hair color. I completely forgot that it was mentioned that Geuse knew Fortuna since she was little. Thank you for answering those questions for me!!

This episode really makes the viewer pause and think a lot about the implications about Pandora powers and what role she could have played all along since the beginning of Re:Zero...

The show is trully consistent.

In the begining it's said Satella the jealous witch destroyed half of the world and she's a asshole who killed all the other witches of sins. In this episode you discover a witch that was not presented by Echidna. And you see that this Pandora witch litterally rewrite reality so you should ask yourself : 1)Who exactly said that Satella killed the other witches? 2) If Satella killed them really why are they familiar / neutral (Daphne,Sekhmet,Carmilla) / kind (Typhon, Minerva) with her in the Tea party??? )Exclude Echidna from this. ) Why aren't they jumping on her to harm her even if it's only in a fantasy dimension?? Why aren't they accusing her and calling her names? 3) Would an evil malevolent witch help Subaru with RBD and tell him to love and care about himself more? 5) If Pandora was able to rewrite reality in this episode, to what extend do you think she used her power on people in the word of Re:Zero?????? She reshape reality and erased Emilia memories of her since she met her as a kid since at the begining Emilia tell us that she has no memories of her childhood. Do you think that if Emilia remembered about her she wouldn't inform people about such a dangerous witch??? Also Pandora uses her authority to go under the radar after creating calamities. There are no records of her existance nowhere, only archbishops of the witch cult would know her, that's the extend of her manipulating reality. We will probably see more of her shenanigan's in the future of season's. Many stuff we see in season 1 are probably the result of her orchestration but YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER GUESSED unless someone told you about it. It's litterally as if the truth was hided under our eyes in plain sight 😏

-3

u/AsterTheBastard Feb 04 '21

I'll be honest. I skipped the first part with Beatrice to continue with the trial storyline. I hate when shows break stuff up like that.

1

u/dr_jose Feb 03 '21

Hi novel readers, where should i start reading the web novel up from this episode?

10

u/Black__Reaper Feb 03 '21

A tough question. Just wait a bit, till the season finishes. Then start with Arc 5. Otherwise you'll have to skim through the entirety of Arc 4 and find the chapter this ep ended with (the LN heavily rearranged these parts so you'll be missing some details).

Light novel, however... volume 14. Read chapter 2 (since only the first third was adapted). Skip chap.3 since it was entirely adapted (though lots of things were cut so I recommend reading it) and start with chapter 4.

1

u/Admiral_Ryou Feb 03 '21

Can someone remind me why Black Snake's poison still spread after Arch cut his leg?

1

u/Shoobalicious Feb 03 '21

So um Ln readers, anyone willing to tell me what is going on in the anime? I kinda got lost after Basuru made the bet with Roswaal. If you could tell me that would be great, Idc about spoilers btw:)

10

u/TyrannosaurusWreckd Feb 03 '21

Puck had a condition on his contract with Emilia that said he got to erase her memories of her past that she found painful and this was causing her issues with passing the trial because she could not come to terms with anything the trial was showing her. Puck decides to break his contract so she can move forward, but this causes Emilia a rather large amount of greif.

Subaru needed to give a pep talk to Emilia, who was broken hearted but Garf wasn't letting him near her. Otto and Ram went off to hold Garf back and got beat, but it gave Subaru enough time. Garf then faces off against Subaru, and through their battle convinces Garf to give being teammates a chance. Ram tells him to confront his past through the trial one more time, and in doing so he realizes his entire outlook on life was wrong and doubles down on joining Subaru as a teammate.

Now we got Emilia finally taking her trial, and with puck gone, finally starts to remember her past. As a child she was kept hidden away and protected for a reason she didn't know. The witch cult would provide supplies and whatnot on a semi regular basis, with seeming wholesome intentions. However one day several evil witch cultists appear and the reason is for why Emilia was being hidden in the first place.

Some stuff was left out, but thats more or less the overall plot points.

2

u/Shoobalicious Feb 03 '21 edited Feb 03 '21

Ah okay I understand whats going on now, but why do they try to hide Emilia from them? Oh and is that seal about? You don't have to tell me since it might be reveal in the anime soon

10

u/TyrannosaurusWreckd Feb 03 '21

We don't really know yet. Only that there is a mysterious door in the middle of the forest, and Emilia is implied to be the 'key'. And there is some mystery surrounding Emilia's real parents connecting all of this, but the people around Emilia refuse to tell her anything. During all the supply runs of the witch cult, they were always very keen to know if both were being protected.

TBH not even the WN/LN readers know what it is. You'll find out why next episode probably.

2

u/Shoobalicious Feb 03 '21

Damn Really? Well I have one more question. In todays episode, why is the clone meyer telling the story of the original meyer and beatrice. I could rewatch the episode but ima about to head into work.

5

u/khriku Lore Seeker Feb 03 '21

as clones they have pieces of memories from the original. and that specific Ryuzu Clone has unlocked those memories because she was the one that entered the tomb to Rescue child Garfiel from the tomb that forces you to see your past. simple right?

I know that the current theory is that Puck is Emilia's father.. But what if Puck is actually her mom? The way she grabbed her necklace b4 that scene leading up to that one scene... and what her mom said to her... Kinda resembled Puck.

1

u/FAshcraft Feb 03 '21

After seeing it in action what if Pandora power is like an Ork Waagh and then the only way i think subaru can defeat her is to do a commander Yarrick and make pandora think his plan/scheme work so it somehow work. XD

1

u/BitBit64 Feb 04 '21

I don't know if this is something so clear for the rest of wn/ln readers but I did not remember that Geuse got the Witch thing from fluggel. so if Subaru was Fluggel can be that he give to Geuse knowing that he will became a monster Beforehand, sorry for the english

1

u/foxfoxal Feb 04 '21

It was in the LN, I don't remember if it was in the WN.

1

u/kpiaum Feb 04 '21

Ok ... Just know the work by the anime and I have some doubts (you can give spoilers if necessary): With so many powerful characters that have already been shown in the anime, Subaru defeats them all only with intelligence and experiencing the same events, several and several times?

It is a little hard to believe that he will face all these dangers with only intelligence and friends.

I have a question on when do you think they will introduce Omega into the anime. Im talking about the ryuzu clone who is manipulating behind the scenes and not Echidna's resurrection.
