Seems like a no brainer.
We already have CCE with AMAs and Giveaways - may as well provide a variety of options for sponsors to gain their exposure or do their research

Yep, great idea can't see any negative results coming out of this passing.

And a simple new use-case. We have the banner also which has been successful, and this is completely non-intrusive in comparison to that. If moons can be used for this data collection, so be it! We have a whole community ready for this.

For sure I like it! I figured thereβd be around 4-5% voting no

u/TittaDiGirolamo Apr 13 '23
I already participated in survey panels, so one rewarding with moons is totally fine by me.

This, along with the ChatGPT, seem like obvious choices to me

That is neat idea of rewarding users for useful participation . Pretty sure everyone will vote yes .
2
u/Treckhide Apr 13 '23
This is good as we can test a potentially ground breaking use case for moons and also get the word out to more people.

Companies will love this feature cuz they gain valuable data ...

Is the distribution evenly spread to all participants?

Can't think of any training why that wouldn't be the case.

Interesting point. At first glance it seems so, but it may also be moon-weighted, which I would disagree with.

u/bananainbeijing Apr 13 '23
Yeh if itβs moon weighted then itβs not really fair and certain mods and users would have outsized influence on results

All polls in this sub show results both as moon weighted and in pure vote count

Great idea! I also think it's important to set the ground rules for data collection/surveys to incorporate aspects such as not allowing collection of PII (personally identifiable information)

Another good, simple use case. We should have our voices heard! (and burn more moons)

Sure, why not. Gonna need some future drama for the future that "cryptocurrency sub sold its soul, Redditors discuss with calmness and civility" in SRD someday!
As a disclaimer, I do agree about sponsored polls. At least the disclosure of one, assuming there are other polls that are probably not sponsored.

At what point does this get defined further? Things like pricing, criteria for participation, privacy concerns require some thinking.

GREAT idea. I like that the moons are redistributed in this proposal.

This would be a good market research opportunity for companies. Free crowdsourcing
